SOUTHERN RACERS AUCTION & TRADE SHOW PR#1

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Southern Racers Auction & Trade Show Returns with Pensacola as new Host City

PENSACOLA, FL.---The Southern Racers Auction & Trade Show that Southern All Star founder BJ Parker started in Birmingham, AL., and ran for over 30 years, is getting a new life in 2017. The owner of the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Matt Wagner, along with Tim and Randy Bryant of Bryant Racing Equipment & Five Flags Speedway, will be hosting the 2017 version of the event on Friday, Feb. 10 & Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds in Pensacola, FL.

The group believes in the original concept the legendary Parker set out to do, and that is to give the vendors a place to come and sell their products to their customers and to give racers a chance to sell their used race parts and maybe even find something they don’t have. During the summer, Wagner began thinking of reviving the Auction again. “I know Birmingham was the ideal location, centrally located for everybody. But now they use that arena for other things and it’s hard to get the dates you need during the winter months” stated Wagner. “I was trying to explore different locations when one of our employees, Ray Tennyson, mentioned that Tim had approached him about an auction at the Pensacola Fairgrounds.  We had a meeting, made an agreement, and now we are full steam ahead towards February.”

“We’ve been wanting for years to take our Annual Racer’s Swap Meet to the next level”, stated Tim Bryant. “Randy and I attended the Birmingham Auction and Trade Show back in the day, and we always envisioned something similar coming to Pensacola. We’re honored that Matt and his staff approached us to see if we were interested in keeping the tradition alive. A lot of people went to that auction & trade show to buy, sell, or just talk about racing, and that is something we’ve been missing. They haven’t done the auction in several years and we feel now is the time to bring it back.”

The event is designed for the racers and the companies that they do business with. Included will be oval track racing, both dirt & asphalt, drag racing, club racing, karting, or street racing. Anything hi-performance will be seen at this sale. Also encouraged to participate are racetracks and sanctioning bodies, with an opportunity to make valuable contacts at a crucial time of the year to potential racers.

Day to day operations will be handled by staff members from Southern All Stars and Bryant Racing Equipment/ Five Flags Speedway. The trade vendor and booth space will be set up and handled by longtime trade show organizer Don Fleetwood, from Indiana. The auction will be conducted by Keith Norville and longtime and legendary North Carolina racer Boscoe Lowe.

More details will be released in the upcoming days concerning this big auction trade show.
