FAYETTEVILLE, TN– The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will be raising money Saturday night at the Smoky Mt Speedway in Maryville, TN., at the King of the Mountain/Hall Of Fame 40.  The series will have a collection point at the registration trailer for everybody to donate to help out on the medical expenses of driver Chesley Dixon who was burned in an accident at the Swainsboro Speedway s well as track work Chris McCullars who also suffered 3rd degree burns as he was assisting in getting Dixon out of the car.

“I got a phone call today from Jody Rogers of Statesboro, GA., who son Jim has been racing with the series this year and he suggested  that we do something to help them out.” Said Southern All Star GM Lynn Acklin.  “Chesley has raced with the Southern All Stars several times when the series has traveled in the Georgia are as well as the race at East Alabama and Chris is one of the track workers at Swainsboro Raceway that was helping to get Dixon out of his car.”  “Both men will need multiple surgeries and medical expenses will be adding up, so we felt like the dirt community needs to give what they can to help out both of these individuals.” said Acklin.  “We will be collecting money at the Southern All Star registration trailer Saturday and also we will also have some drivers go through the stands during intermission to collect money that will be given to both families”

If you can’t be at Smoky Mt Speedway this Saturday and would like to contribute you can by sending a check or money order made out in either Chesley or Chris’ name to the Southern All Stars P O Box 189 Fayetteville, TN 37334 and we will get it to them.
