Josh Putnam claims first-career Southern All Stars Series win at Green Valley

GLENCOE, AL (September 7, 2013)—No more struggling at The Jungle for Josh Putnam.

The Florence, AL driver claimed the largest win of his racing career and his first Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series event win on Saturday Night September 7th with the $5,000 payday at the Green Valley Speedway. Putnam also became the 160th different winner in series history with the event win and the 11th different winner in 17 races so far this season. Putnam drove his Bob Pierce Race Car sponsored by Valley Metal Fabricators and Miller’s Body Shop sponsored entry to the victory.

Completing the top-five was Billy Ogle Jr., Ray Cook, who brought out the yellow on lap two with a flat tire and rallied back from the tail to finish third, Riley Hickman finished fourth and Jason Hiett was fifth.

The next Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series event is on Saturday September 21st at the Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN.  The event is the King of the Mountain 40 and will pay $5,000 to win and $300 to start.
