SAS Racing Series Goes BAMA at Green Valley Speedway for Crimson and White 50 September 7

Fayetteville, TN- September 2, 2013- GO BAMA!  The Southern All Star Racing Series will continue with what is going to be a hectic and busy September as the tour visits Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, AL for the Crimson and White 50 on Saturday September 7, with the A-Main contest being 50 laps in distance and paying $5,000 to the winner.  It will mark the first visit for the Southern All Star Racing Series to the 3/8 mile clay oval better known as “The Jungle” since the 2007 racing season.

The Southern All Star Racing Series event at Green Valley Speedway on Saturday September 7 will feature a complete program of practice, WhitePerformance.com A-B Group Time Trials, PPM Racing Products Last Chance Showdowns, and will conclude with the 50 lap, $5,000 to win Crimson and White 50 A-Main.  Support divisions set to join the Southern All Star Racing Series in action at Green Valley Speedway for the Crimson and White 50 will include the track’s Sportsman, Crate Late Model, Street Stock, Pure Pony, and Enduro divisions.

The visit by the Southern All Star Racing Series to Green Valley Speedway on Saturday September 7 marks the tour’s first visit to the facility since June 22, 2007.  The Southern All Star Racing Series has made 22 previous appearances at Green Valley Speedway and that action has produced 14 different series winners.  Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN is the series all-time race winner at Green Valley Speedway with seven victories, while Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA is the only other driver to have more than one victory at GVS, as he has three wins.

Among those expected from the Southern All Star Racing Series stable of drivers include series points leader Riley Hickman of Chattanooga, TN, Bret Holmes of Munford, AL, Mark Rosner of Rockford, TN, Mike Weeks of Friendsville, TN, Billy Ogle, Jr. of Knoxville, TN, Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL, Tommy Kerr of Maryville, TN along with a strong array of talented local and regional racing stars expected such as Dylan Ames of Harvest, AL, Duane Treadwell of Lagrange, GA, Jake Knowles of Rome, GA, T.J. Alford of Piedmont, AL, Tim Roszell of Coldwater, AL, Jason Wilson of Margaret, AL, Dennis Reno of Sumiton, AL, Brian Smith of Sand Rock AL, James Lay of Blountsville, AL, Dillon Crim of Eastaboga, AL, Carlton Freeman of Eastaboga, AL, Buddy George of Ragland, AL plus many excellent racers are expected.  The tour has presented sixteen events so far in 2013 and has seen ten different drivers visit victory with the series this season.

Activities for the Southern All Star Racing Series Crimson and White 50 event at Green Valley Speedway on Saturday September 7 will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the general admission area open at 4:30 p.m.  The drivers meeting will take place at 6:45 p.m, with practice set to start at 7:15 p.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing.  All times listed are Central Daylight Time.  Ticket prices for the Crimson and White 50 at Green Valley Speedway in the general admission area will see a $30 car load night admission special, while if there are two people or less in a vehicle it will be $15 per person, while children ages 12 and under are admitted free.  A pit pass will be $30.

Southern All Star Racing Series Green Valley Speedway Crimson and White 50 A-Main Payout for Saturday September 7:  1st- $5,000, 2nd- $2,500, 3rd- $1,200, 4th- $1,000, 5th- $800, 6th- $700, 7th- $600, 8th- $550, 9th- $500, 10th- $475, 11th- $450, 12th- $400, 13th- $350, 14th- $300, 15th- $300, 16th- $300, 17th- $300, 18th- $300, 19th- $300, 20th- $300, 21st- $300, 22nd- $300, 23rd- $300, 24th- $300.

The entry fee for the Saturday September 7 Crimson and White 50 at Green Valley Speedway is $100 and can be made payable to the Southern All Star Racing Series.  The tire rule is exclusively Hoosier Tires and the only compounds eligible to be used are the Hoosier 1350, 1450, and 1600 compounds.
