Billy Moyer Jr Sweeps Ky Lake Southern All Star Doubleheader to Get His First Two Career Series Wins

CALVERT CITY, KY—The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series made its first trip to Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, KY., for the Kentucky Doubleheader weekend of racing in the Bluegrass state and Billy Moyer Jr of Batesville, AR., picked up his first two career Southern All Star wins by capturing both events and getting a $1,000 bonus making it a $10,000 weekend for him.

In Friday night action Moyer Jr started 5th and worked his way to the front battling with pole sitter Ashley Newman of Ripley, TN.,  and outside pole sitter Riley Hickman of Cleveland, TN.,  all race long, Hickman took over the top spot from Newman around lap 10 and then held it till Moyer Jr moved around Hickman on a restart and then started to pull away from second and third, but lapped traffic proved to be a problem as this allowed Newman to gain on Moyer Jr in the closing laps with Newman getting alongside Moyer Jr in the final laps but he could just not get by him and had to settle for a second place, third went to Riley Hickman fourth to Brandon Kinzer of Allen, KT.,  and fifth to Dylan Ames of Harvest, Al., who started 14th and worked his way up for a top five finish.

Finishing 6th place was Eric Cooley of Fulton, MS., , seventh to Vic Hill Mosheim, TN.,  eighth to Tanner English of Benton, KY., form his 11th starting spot, ninth to Jake Knowles of Rome, GA., who started 17th and worked for his top ten finish and 10th went to Jeffrey Bailey Calvert City, KY.,  who started 24th

Saturday night action saw Billy Moyer Jr., put on dominating performance as he led from the start of the race from his outside front row starting spot along Eric Hickerson of Linden, TN., Moyer Jr moved out front in turn two and never has anybody close to him until cautions would bunch the field back up and then he would get a challenge every now and then from Riley Hickman and Ashley Newman early in the race, but in the latter stages of the race his competition changed as Dane Dacus of Lakeland, TN., and Dylan Ames were going to give it one last shot as they found themselves in the second and third spot with a few laps remaining, Dacus was in second from his 7th starting spot and Ames was in third from 6th but Moyer Jr was too strong at the end and held on to get his second career series win, second was Dacus third Ames, fourth spot went to Riley Hickman and fifth to Ashley Newman.

Sixth place went to Kevin Cole of Benton IL., from his 11th, seventh place to Hickerson, eight to Jonathan Rowan of Jackson, TN., from 12th, ninth to Terry English of Benton, KY., from 12th and finishing 10th Jeffrey Bailey of Calvert City, KY., from 22nd.
