Southern All Stars Next Stop Michael Head Jr Memorial At Talladega Short Track
FAYETTEVILLE, TN-The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will be back in action this Saturday night July 25th at the Talladega Short track for the Michael Head Jr Memorial held in honor of 1991 Southern All Star Champion Mike Head’s son Michael, who was tragically killed in a carjacking incident in an Atlanta suburb. The race will be a 40 lap $4,000 to win event for the series and has always been a Southern All Star event held at Talladega Short Track since its inception.
Ronnie Johnson one of Mike’s close friends has won the event three, with William Thomas & Randy Weaver each scoring two wins, while Danny Peoples, Duayne Hommell, Mark Mears, Chris Madden, Tim and Tim Busha.
Who will add their name to this list of drivers, well that could be any of these guys that are expected to be in action including Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, TN., Dillon Tidmore of Glencoe, AL., Skylar Marlar of Winfield, TN., Chris Wilson of Crossville, TN., David Seibers of Petersburg, TN., Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL., and Leon Henderson of Laurel, MS., plus many more.
Local drivers that son this weekend include Douglas Stewart, Tim Roszell, Scooter Elkins, Jason Wilson, Terry Smith, Adam Martin plus many more.
Pit gates will open at 4pm with drivers meeting slated for 6:30pm and hot laps to follow.
