SOUTHERN ALL STAR DIRT RACING SERIES PR#24

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Todd Morrow Wins 3rd Annual B J Parker Memorial At Talladega Short Track

EASTABOGA, AL—The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series returned to the 1/3 mile Talladega Short Track Saturday night for the 3rd Annual B J Parker Memorial and the fans in attendance did not leave disappointed as Todd Morrow of East Ridge, TN., moved around three time series champion Randy Weaver from Crossville, TN., to capture his third win of the season with the Southern All Stars.

Morrow lead White Performance Qualifying with a 14.952 second lap in Group A and was locked in  with Jason Hiett of Anniston, AL., Chris Wilson of Crossville, TN., and Tom Roszell of Anniston, AL., while Group B qualifying was lead by Randy Weaver, John Owenby of Chattanooga, TN., Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN., and Riley Hickman of Cleveland, TN.  PPM Racing Products B Mains were won by Tom Maddox of Centre, AL., and Aaron Ridley of Chatsworth, GA.

Weaver took the lead at the drop of the green and looked to be the man to beat early as he pulled to a 10 car length lead over Morrow in the early stages as Morrow was being challenged by Hiett of the second spot.  These two swapped the second place back and forth several times, until Morrow finally got control of the second spot and set his sights on Weaver.  Morrow made several challenges to Weaver each time coming up short until on lap 37 Morrow went around Weaver and then pulled away at the end to get the win.  Weaver who won this event last year finished in the second spot with Hiett bringing home third, Jake Knowles started 11th and worked his way into a top five finish with a fourth place run and finishing the fifth spot was Ronnie Johnson in his first start with the series this year.

Tim Roszell came home in sixth place, seventh went to Aaron Ridley form his 10th stating spot, eighth to Austin Kirkpatrick of Ocala, FL., from 13th starting spot, current series point leave Riley Hickman over came a early race caution that caused damage to hi car but still managed to get a ninth place finish and John Owenby finished in the 10th spot.

As for the drivers battling it out for the series championship, Hickman still is on top, but with Morrow’s win he moved ahead of Josh Putnam for second place as Putnam recovered from and earlier spin for a 15th place finish, Chris Wilson faded late it the race and fished 16th and Dylan Ames also had problem late in the race finished 18th.

The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series would like to thank Talladega Short Track, the drivers, fans and everybody who helped make the 3rd Annual B J Parker Memorial a very successful event.
