Riley Hickman, Chris Wilson & Mike Head Will Be Honored At Southern All Star Banquet

FAYETTEVILLE, TN-The Cleveland County Club in Cleveland TN., will be the host facility for the 2014 Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Awards Banquet on Saturday night January 24, 2015 with a reception held at 6pm, dinner at 7pm and awards ceremonies around 8pm.

Riley Hickman of Cleveland, TN., will be awarded his second straight Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series Championship. Hickman topped the season with three wins as he won the Shamrock at Boyds Speedway in Ringgold, GA., and then closed out the season with a win on NASCAR Weekend at the Talladega Short Track and then the Gobbler at Cleveland Speedway. Hickman also had 11 top five finishes during the season as well as 13 top tens on his way to the title.

Chris Wilson of Crossville, TN., will be awarded the Cruise with the Champions/DirtonDirt.com Rookie of the year title. Wilson in his first full year of tour racing started off slow in the 2014 campaign but late in the season made a late season run that moved him up the point ladder as well. Wilson had no wins during the season, with 2 top five finishes and as 8 top tens during the season.

Another man that will be honored at the awards banquet will be on of the true racers and long time supporter of the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series and that will be the 1991 series champion Mike Head of Ellenwood, GA. Mike has had 417 carrier starts with the series with his first win coming in 1986 at the Anderson Motor Speedway in Anderson, SC., with his latest win in 2004 at the Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. In between Head has 24 career wins with 137 top five finishes and 249 top ten finishes. Talladega Short Track is the track Head has the most series win at with 6, Penton Raceway in Penton, AL., he has 3 wins, 7 Flags Speedway in Douglasville, GA., he has 2 wins, and he captures single wins at Riverside Speedway in Travelers Rest, SC., Tazewell Speedway Tazewell, TN., Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, TN., Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA., Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS., Smoky Mt Speedway in Maryville, TN., Crossville Raceway in Crossville, TN., Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, TN., Rome Speedway in Rome, GA., Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA., Tri County Raceway in Brasstown, NC., and Anderson Motor Speedway in Anderson, SC.
