For Immediate Release Rodney Sanders Sweeps USMTS Weekend; Five-Day Run Next Happy, Texas (06/22/15) – Rodney Sanders extended his current win streak to six over the weekend with three more triumphs aboard his #20 Swan Energy/MB Customs Open Wheel Modified. Continuing on the United States Modified Tour Series (USMTS) schedule, Rodney Sanders made the trip to 81 Speedway (Park City, Kansas) on Thursday evening. Coming off three-straight wins in USMTS competition, Rodney continued his streak to advance three spots in his heat race to record a win. With a total field of 58 Open Wheel Modifieds, Rodney Sanders never looked back from his pole position starting spot in the finale to record his fourth straight feature win. Sanders picked up $3,000 for his efforts, ousting Johnny Scott, Ryan Gustin, Grant Junghans and Brian Franz in the 40-lap A-Main.
Rodney Sanders visited Route 66 Motor Speedway (Amarillo, Texas) on Saturday night in hopes of keeping his USMTS streak afloat with six wins. With a car count of 45 Open Wheel Modifieds, Sanders went on to lead every lap of his heat and 40-lap feature to register his sixth straight win of the season. Recording yet another $3,000 payday, Rodney won his 12th Modified feature of the season with Dereck Ramirez, Steve Whiteaker Jr. Stormy Scott and Casey Arneson rounding out the top five. “Just wow, that’s about all that I can say,” an elated Sanders commented after his sixth win. “There’s a tough field of drivers on this tour so any win is big, much less six in a row. With another busy stretch of racing in front of us, hopefully we can continue to win.” The schedule will remain hectic this week, June 23rd-27th, with five USMTS events on the docket. Action opens on Tuesday evening at Heart O’ Texas Speedway (Elm Mott, Texas) before shifting to Devil’s Bowl Speedway (Mesquite, Texas) on Wednesday. Thursday evening takes the tour to East Texas Speedway (Petty, Texas) with Friday night slated for Southern Oklahoma Speedway (Ardmore, Oklahoma). The weekend draws to a close on Saturday evening at Lawton Speedway (Lawton, Oklahoma). For more information on the events, please visit www.USMTS.com . FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Ricky Weiss Wins Again; Four Race NLRA Weekend Next On Wednesday night Ricky Weiss traveled to Fairmont Raceway (Fairmont, Minnesota) to take part in the OneMain WISSOTA Challenge Series. Competing against a field of fifteen Super Late Models, Weiss suffered a broken drive shaft on the last lap of his heat, giving him the last starting spot in the A-Main. Battling for the $2,000 payday, Ricky worked his way through the field to advance seven positons as he captured an 8th place finish.
