SALDANA LOOKING FORWARD TO RETURNING
TO CLAY COUNTY AND DEER CREEK

SPENCER, Iowa (Sept. 10, 2014) – The World of Outlaws have started their trek from the West Coast to the Midwest.  They will race at Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer, Iowa Friday, Sept. 12, and on Saturday, Sept. 13, the Motter Equipment HE&M Saw Beltline Body Shop 71M team gets a little closer to its northern Minnesota base when the Outlaws set up racing operations at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn.

Last year the Motter team scored a runner-up finish at Clay County and they were fifth at Deer Creek.  Out of five events contested by the World of Outlaws at Deer Creek, Saldana has won two.  He drove to victory lane at the inaugural event in 2009 and followed that up with another win in 2010.

“We did well in the West Coast races in Washington and Oregon, but California wasn’t very kind to us,” said the Brownsburg Bullet in a synopsis of recent events.  “We’ve had a few days to regroup and we’re looking for podium finishes this weekend.

“Dan (Motter, team owner) has been traveling but we expect him to rejoin us at Deer Creek. The track's been good to me, and I'm hopeful we can go that one extra step and get back in the winner’s circle,” said Saldana.

Saldana sits fifth in World of Outlaws point standings, only four points out of fourth.
He has five victories so far this season, 32 top five and 52 top ten finishes. He is the Outlaws’ leading qualifier having scored 22 quick times.  The signature yellow sprint car piloted by second-generation driver Saldana has led 271 laps.

Notable: The Motter Equipment HE&M Saw Beltline Body Shop sprint car has added some color this week and stopped traffic (Sept. 8 – 13) at the HE&M Saw booth at the International Manufacturing Technology Show at McCormick Place in Chicago.

“This venue gives the Motter Equipment HE&M Saw Beltline Body Shop 71M sprint car not only national exposure, but the IMTS show is one of the biggest machinery shows in the world, with guest from all over the world attending.,” said HE&M Saw service manager Bob Foster.

“Business is very good. HEM SAW has very loyal customers as does Joey with his loyal fan base. We are both very similar in this aspect.”

Reutzel Gears up for Stretch Run!

Lonnie Wheatley, CLUTE, Texas (September 11, 2014) – With a number of notable events on the slate to finish out the 2014 season, Aaron Reutzel and the BC Fundz/Wren Motorsports No. 87 Triple-X team are ready to finish out the season on a strong note after a pair of idle weekends.

Already with six feature wins this year aboard the Momentum Racing Suspensions/Danny Sander Construction/ButlerBuilt Sprint Car, the Clute, TX, racer looks to put some additional notches on the win column over the latter portion of the season along with regaining a few point positions in the ASCS National Tour points race.

The pursuit of more wins begins this weekend with Texas Motor Speedway’s Port-a-Cool U.S. Dirt Track Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday and Saturday.  It’s a place that has Reutzel has found to his liking in the past.

“We’ve always got around there really well, the track is always racy and works well for us,” the driver of the Scott Baylor Racing Engines/Basic One Services machine said of the state-of-the-art Texas Motor Speedway dirt track facility.

After charging through the field from “B” Main action and into the top ten before cutting a tire in his first TMS outing two years ago, Reutzel raced from 11th to fourth in last year’s ASCS National Tour event at TMS.

This weekend’s action at Texas Motor Speedway is the first of three September weekend doubles for Reutzel and the Lone Star Hydro Maintenance/Wright Way Logistics team with I-80 Speedway’s Fall Brawl on September 19-20 in Greenwood, NE, and then Lucas Oil Speedway’s Hockett/McMillin Memorial on September 26-27 in Wheatland, MO, to follow.

October offers up the Devil’s Bowl Winter Nationals on October 17-18 in Mesquite, TX, and then the $15,000 to win Short Track Nationals at Little Rock’s I-30 Speedway on October 22-25.

November puts the wraps on Reutzel’s 2014 Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour campaign with Battle at the Border stops in El Paso and Las Cruces on November 7-8 before the season finale at Yuma’s Cocopah Speedway on November 14-15.

Slipping from sixth to tenth in ASCS National points after missing the recent Jackson Nationals in Minnesota, Reutzel has his sights on regaining those positions over the final events of the year.

“We’ve spent the last couple of weeks going through everything, trying to make sure we’ve got everything we need to finish out the year along with some of the non-wing stuff to finish it out as well,” Reutzel concludes.

The stretch run gets under way this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.  And no better place for Reutzel and team to regain mid-season form that landed him in victory lane on a regular basis.

2014 Quick Stats:  47 races, 6 “A” Main wins, 22 top-fives, 31 top-tens.

Up Next: Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour action at Texas Motor Speedway near Fort Worth on Friday and Saturday.
