Five Teams Earn Six Wins with Roush Yates Power

Mooresville, NC (July 15, 2013) Five teams running Roush Yates power found Victory Lane throughout the week in the World of Outlaws, Lucas Oil ASCS, and DIRTcar Nationals series. Brad Keselowski, driver of the No. 2 Ford Fusion in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, broke the track record and put his Roush Yates FR9 engine on the pole in New Hampshire.

Scott Bloomquist led all 40 laps and took home the checkered flag in his first DIRTcar Summer Nationals “Hell Tour” event in 10 years on Tuesday night at Florence Speedway (Union, KY). Starting from the pole position, Bloomquist seemed to have his car on cruise control as he pulled out to an early lead. The $5,000 win came on the 17th leg of the annual six week long “Hell Tour”.

“The track had some character tonight,” said Bloomquist. “There were some patches that were a little bit rough. It got slick in the middle, but the car was really good all night. The car just felt great.”

Josh Richards led all 50 laps to win the Wild West Tour A-main at Red River Co-op Speedway (Winnipeg, Manitoba) on Thursday night. Richards started on the outside pole in his first attempt at the four-tenths-mile oval and held off fellow competitor Tim McCreadie to take the victory by 3.421 seconds. The $10,650 win allowed Richards to extend his lead in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series championship by 38 points and was his seventh win of the season.

“We were fortunate,” said Richards, who swept the Firecracker 100 last month. “We kind of hit it right from the start. We had everything going for us, so I just had to do my part and try to get out there and get some open track and get through lapped traffic the best we could.”

Jason Johnson earned two wins this week in the Lucas Oil ASCS Series. The new dad parked his No. 41 Ford in Victory Lane on Tuesday during the MAVTV American Real series debut at Billings Motorsports Park (Billings, MT). Capping off the weekend at Grays Harbor Raceway (Elma, WA) on Saturday night, Johnson reclaimed the ASCS points lead with his sixth win of 2013 and his seventy-fourth tour victory.
“These Stenhouse Motorsports guys dialed this Maxim Chassis in all weekend and it was like a dream to drive,” said Johnson.

Tony Bruce Jr. also found success in the ASCS Series this week with a win at Great Falls (MT). Bruce became the season’s thirteenth different winner after jumping to third on the start and powering to the race lead by lap 3. In an exciting finish, Bruce raced side by side with Joe Ramaker out of turn four to win by just 0.755 seconds.

Jack Dover shot out front early and never looked back in the Lucas Oil ASCS Series race at the half mile Kansas State Fairground oval in Hutchinson, KS. Pulling away on the final restart, he expertly maneuvered through lapped traffic to become the eleventh different driver to win in eleven years. Dover’s win on Saturday night etched his name in history as the he picked up his first career Hutchinson Grand Nationals championship.
