Edwards Wins in Phoenix

Mooresville, NC (March 4, 2013) Carl Edwards helped Ford become the first manufacturer to win a non-restrictor-plate race with NASCAR's new Gen-6 car on Sunday by finishing first in the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway.

Edwards pulled away during a late green-white-checkered finish with a push from fellow Ford Roush Yates Engine driver Brad Keselowski to take the win. Sunday's victory snapped a 70-race winless streak for Edwards and brought a new confidence to him and his team.

"The win feels as good or better as any win I've ever had," said Edwards after the race.

Edward's No. 99 Subway Ford Fusion led the final 78 of the 312-lap race to capture his 20th career victory. Brad Keselowski finished fourth.

Another round of exciting wins came on the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series circuit this weekend in Tucson, AZ. Jason Johnson swept the weekend winning two races in two nights at Cocopah Speedway in the Cocopah Cup Challenge.

Johnson's crew helped him find the perfect combination for his Roush Yates Ford 360 engine to power away from the field and win the feature event each night.

"The guys set up a car where I could get through lapped traffic and go anywhere I wanted to. Hats off to these Stenhouse Jr. Racing guys," said Johnson. "It definitely helps to get that first win out of the way. It builds confidence in the team for a great season."
