Roush Yates and Richards Begin Speedweeks with a Win

Mooresville, NC (February 11, 2013) 2013 Speedweeks is just around the corner and Roush Yates Engines are starting the season off strong with Josh Richards capturing his first win of the year this weekend at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, GA.

Richards took the lead on lap six, contending with heavy lapped traffic throughout much of the race. In the end, he held off Shane Clanton to capture Saturday night's 50-lap Winter Freeze finale and his 40th career victory on the World of Outlaws tour.

"I knew Clanton's been really, really good and we had a lot of tire chatter on the last five or six laps, so I knew it was going to be tough. We just had to stay on the infield and try to keep the right-rear out of the black and hold on. Our engine was really good tonight and it feels great to come in first," said Richards.

With his Ford Roush Yates powered Dirt Late Model engine, Richards was able to cross the finish line 0.405 seconds ahead on Clanton. Both Richards and Clanton recorded finishes of first and second in the doubleheader at Screven, sending them to the next events in Florida tied for the points lead.

The World of Outlaws series is heading to Ocala, FL this week to race at Bubba Raceway Park. Next week the series will travel to Volusia Speedway Park for the UNOH DIRTcar Nationals. Roush Yates Performance Products trailers will be on hand at Volusia.
