Ford Wins Modified Championship at Bowman Gray Stadium

Mooresville, NC (August 23, 2010) Burt Myers found success in the Modified series all season long at Bowman Gray Stadium and on Saturday he raced his Roush Yates powered modified to his forth championship in the Bill Plemmons RV World Modified Series. Myers has relied on Roush Yates' power for the past four years and couldn't be happier with this season's results.

"This was probably one of the hardest races I've ever run, to be honest with you," said Myers. "I had to be smart about it. I didn't want to do anything to where it was my fault if we didn't win the championship. So I just tried to dodge all the bullets I could. I was quiet tonight so I could be loud now!"

Myers won five races this season and still holds the record for the most poles won at Bowman Gray Stadium. His 2010 Championship is the first for Ford at the track in nearly 50 years. Burt's brother, Jason Myers, also runs a Roush Yates engine in the modified series and both racers are looking forward to next season.

Other drivers who trusted Roush Yates Engines to get them in the winner's circle this weekend were Modified driver Rick Laubach and Dirt Late Model racers Eddie Kirchoff and Ivedent Lloyd.

Rick Laubach, drive of the number R1 358 Roush Yates modified, won his first race at Big Diamond Raceway on Friday night. Laubach has eight victories this season in big-block modified racing but had yet to capture a win at his home track.

"Here we are almost to the end of the season and I finally figured it out," said Laubach. "Thank you to everyone for sticking by me. I always wanted to race at Big Diamond and I came to win."
