Mooresville, NC (July 22, 2013) Joey Logano and Sam Hornish Jr. earned the top two spots for Penske Racing in the NASCAR Nationwide series at Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday, July 21.  That same day Corey LaJoie sailed to his biggest career win as he took the checkered in the Ansell ActivArmr 150 at Chicagoland Speedway in just his second career ARCA start.

Elliott Sadler was leading the restart with only 24 laps remaining in the Nationwide series race.  Hornish moved into position and looked as though he was set to secure the victory when Logano roared into the lead.

“It's really big for us to get a 1-2 finish.  That’s awesome,” Logano said. “It's been a really good day for the Penske organization.”

Logano collected his second Nationwide win of the year and the 20th in his career.  Having finished second, Hornish moved into the top spot in the series standings, seven points over Regan Smith.

The Ansell ActivArmr 150 ARCA race came down to the white flag. LaJoie, driving the No. 17 Sims Metal Management, Roulo Brothers Ford, led an impressive 36 of the first 52 laps with his Roush Yates FR9.  Playing out on pit strategy, LaJoie came in on lap 80 for fuel and two tires.  Pole sitter Ryan Blaney and Justin Boston ran out of fuel with just laps to go.

“With about 20 to go, Harold Holly (crew chief) said we were going to come in for fuel and tires and see if we can outsmart them a little bit,” the Richard Petty Motorsports development driver said. “I came in to get tires.  After that, it was just all-out racing.”

Justin Williams finished a career-best second in the No. 02 Allegiant Travel, Roush Yates powered Ford.  It was his second race driving for Gallagher Motorsports.  He was on the same pit strategy as Blaney and Boston, but was able to make it to the end.
LaJoie, the son of two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series champion Randy LaJoie, said he hopes to race in a couple more ARCA Racing Series events this season.

"It definitely makes all of the late nights, and midnights, and early mornings worth it," said LaJoie.
