CT Promotions Sanctioned 6th Annual Hangover 40 at 411 Motor Speedway January 1

SOMERSET, KY (December 1, 2015)- New Year’s Day signifies the start of a new year and also the start of a new race season as 411 Motor Speedway track promoter Mitch McCarter and CT Promotions will present the first must-see dirt racing event of the 2016 season in the region as the 6th Annual Hangover 40 will take place at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN on Friday January 1.  This will be the second straight year the event has been held for Super Late Models and CT Promotions will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the program that will pay $4,000 to win and $450 to start.  The race drew an event record 46 entries in 2015.

The 6th Annual Hangover 40 event will take place on Friday January 1 at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN and will see Super Late Models in competition in a full program of practice, time trials, Pole Dash, Last Chance heat races, and the 40 lap, $4,000 to win/$450 to start 6th Annual Hangover 40 A-Main.  Providing support division action at 411 Speedway on Friday January 1 will be Pro (Crate) Late Models ($1,500 to win), Sportsman ($700 to win), Street Stocks ($700 to win), Mini Stocks ($300 to win), Classics ($300 to win), and Mod Lites.  Also of note, CT Promotions has posted bonuses for drivers who have their machines equipped with a Steel Head/SPEC or CT525 engine.  The highest finishing Steel Head/SPEC Late Model entry in the Hangover 40 A-Main will receive a $200 bonus, while the highest finishing CT525 Late Model entry in the Hangover 40 A-Main will receive a $200 bonus.

Also of note, there will be an open practice prior to the event at 411 Motor Speedway on Thursday December 31.  The practice will begin at Noon and will go until dusk.  All gates will open at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday December 31.  Admission to the practice will be FREE in the general admission area, while a pit pass will be $15 per person.

Activities for the 6th Annual Hangover 40 at 411 Motor Speedway on Friday January 1 will see the general admission area and pit area open at 8:00 a.m.  The drivers meeting will take place at Noon, with practice laps set to begin at 12:30 p.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing.  All times listed are Eastern Standard Time.  In the case of inclement weather, a make-up date of Saturday January 2 is already in place.  Prices for tickets for the 6th Annual Hangover 40 at 411 Motor Speedway on Friday January 1 in the general admission area will be $18 for adults, while a pit pass will be $35. 

CT Promotions 6th Annual Hangover 40 A-Main Payout for January 1, 2016 (40 Laps):
1) $4,000, 2) $2,000, 3) $1,000, 4) $800, 5) $700, 6) $600, 7) $550, 8) $525, 9) $500, 10) $475, 11) $450, 12) $450, 13) $450, 14) $450, 15) $450, 16) $450, 17) $450, 18) $450, 19) $450, 20) $450, 21) $450, 22) $450.  New for this event in 2016, any driver not making the 22 car starting field for the event will receive $100 tow money.

CT Promotions will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the program, with the following tire rules in place for the event:  Hoosier 1350 or 1600 and/or American Racer 48 or 56.  These tire compound rules apply to all four tires on the race cars.  Also, random tire samples will taken by CT Promotions during the course of the event.  The Super Late Model entry fee is $100 (there will be a discounted entry fee for drivers that competed in the event in 2015) with the entry fee being made to CT Promotions.  Transponders will be used for timing and scoring and those can be rented for $20 ($10 user fee if driver has their own transponder).

Also, transponder timing and scoring will be used for all support divisions as well.  The transponder rental fee will be $5 for all competitors in the support divisions.  Drivers will need to bring some form of deposit for their transponder rental, either in the form of credit card or cash for the transponder.  Race Monitor will also be available for the event as well. 

Weight and spoiler rules for the event are as follows:  Open Motors- 2,350 lbs. and 8” spoiler; Steel Head/SPEC Motor Only- 2,300 lbs. and 8” spoiler with 12” sides; CT525 Motors- 2,250 lbs. and 8” spoiler; ALL Steel Motors/Crate Engines- 2,250 lbs. and 8” spoiler with 12” sides.  There will also be a one pound per lap, plus five more pounds, burn off in last chance heats and A-Main.  Any driver utilizing a HANS safety device will receive a 30 pound weight break and any car that has a working fire extinguisher on board will receive a 20 pound weight break.  The rules in place for the event are based off the 2015 Southern Nationals Series rule book and can viewed online at www.SouthernNationalsSeries.com
