FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – A reshuffling among the Top 10 in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings highlighted Week 21 competition and a competitive stretch run in the last six weeks of the season has been set up for the $10,000 Championship.

Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS continues to lead the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 696 points, just four points away from a perfect total of 700 points that represents 14 50-point wins.  Daspit has 12 wins, 22 top five finishes and 24 top ten finishes in 27 races.

Daspit helped his cause on Saturday night with his series-leading 12th win of the season at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA driving the Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star.  Daspit was able to net three points with the win, and he will be trying to net on a 48 in Week 22 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series competition.

There is a new challenger now behind Daspit in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings, as Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS drove the MP Trucking Trak-Star to a fourth-place finish to net six points on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS to move up to the second spot in the standings.

Palasini has a best 14 week total of 682 points after seven wins and 13 top five finishes in 18 races.  Palasini has the opportunity to net another nine points in Week 22 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series action.  Just one point behind Palasini are Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL and Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS, who are tied for the third spot with 681 points.

Dudley has the tie-breaker advantage with eight wins, to three wins for Lee.  Dudley finished sixth on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS driving the Zaxby’s Rocket to net five points.  Dudley has eight wins, 14 top five finishes and 16 top ten finishes in 16 races.  Dudley will be trying to net on a 45 in Week 22 action.
