NeSMITH/AR BODIES STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 13 ROUND UP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies Week 13 competition has given us not one, but two, new point leaders.  Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS and David Windham of Florala, AL share the top of the standings with 568 apiece.  Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS, who has led the standings for several weeks, dropped to third.

                Idom started off NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 13 competition on Friday night with his eighth win of the season at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS driving the Performance Bodies “Throwback” 1957 Chevrolet.  Idom has earned his 568 points in 12 weeks of competition.  Idom has eight wins, 14 top five finishes and 15 top ten finishes in 17 races.

                Windham has taken one week longer to earn his 568 points.  Windham has one win, nine top five finishes, and 12 top ten finishes in 15 races over 13 weeks driving the Florala Pharmacy Chevrolet.  Windham finished fifth on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.

                Leftwich did not compete in NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 13 competition and dropped from the point lead into the third spot.  Leftwich has 532 points after six top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in 12 races over12 weeks driving the STR Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a $3,295 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

                Mike Lane of Pace, FL drove the Lane’s Vinyl Siding Chevrolet to his eighth NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division win of the 2014 season on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.  Lane is fourth in the standings with 524 points after eight wins, 12 top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes in 15 races over 12 weeks.

                Dean Shaw of Defuniak Springs, FL is fifth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 486 points after one win, nine top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 11 races over 11 weeks of series competition.  Shaw finished fifth on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL driving the S&S Electronics Chevrolet.

                Garrett McDonald of Pace, FL drove the Copperhead Chassis to a 40-point win of the 2014 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division season on Friday night at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker FL on Friday night, but actually scored more points on Saturday night with a 49-point second-place finish at Flomaton Speedway.  That put McDonald in the sixth spot of the standings with 448 points after two wins, six top five finishes and nine top ten finishes in 12 races over ten weeks.

                Michael Williams of Saucier, MS is seventh in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 437 points after seven top five finishes and nine top ten finishes in 12 races over ten weeks.  Williams finished third on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in the Williams Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

                Phillip Haynes of Anniston, AL drove the Jeff Owens & Associates Chevrolet to his first NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.  That moved Haynes up to the eighth spot in the standings with 435 points after one win and ten top five finishes in 12 races over 11 weeks.

                Larry Faulk of Pace, FL finished second on Saturday night at Southern Raceway which moved him into the Top 10 of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings in the ninth spot with 432 points.  Faulk has competed in 13 races over 11 weeks with six top five finishes and ten top ten finishes driving the L&H Construction Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

                Kevin Whittington of Brandon, MS and Scooter Ware of West Point, MS are tied for the tenth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 423 points apiece.  Whittington has the tie-breaker advantage with four wins to three wins for Ware.  Neither driver took part in Week 13 competition.

                Whittington has four wins, six top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in nine races over nine weeks driving the Ergon, Inc. Chevrolet.  Ware has three wins, six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in 11 races over ten weeks of NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competition driving the Peay’s Auto Salvage Chevrolet.

                In other NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 13 action, Kevin Mitchell of Pensacola, FL picked up his second win of the season on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway driving the Guy Brothers Roofing Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine. 

                Kendall Keating of Lacombe, LA was the Saturday night winner at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA in his first NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division race of the season in the Keating Racing Chevrolet.  The Saturday night Week 13 event at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS was rained out.
