NeSMITH/AR BODIES STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 3 PREVIEW

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – Going into Week 3 of the 2015 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies season, we have had late results come in and finish adjustments from Week 1 that have changed the point standings.  The updated point standings have been posted below and on the series’ web site at www.nesmithracing.com.

                Week 3 of the 27-week NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division season will see five races on the schedule of events.  A sixth race scheduled for Friday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN has already been rained out.  Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS will host a Friday night event for the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division.

                Saturday night NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 3 events are scheduled for Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.

                The NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point leader going into Week 3 competition is Bill Stewart of Carriere, MS with 99 points.  Stewart took the Week 1 win at Hattiesburg Speedway in the DGF Race Cars Chevrolet and then followed that up last Friday night with a second-place finish.

                The change in the point standings affects the second spot, as we now have a tie between Kevin Whittington of Brandon, MS and Bill Pulliam of Ovett, MS at 96 points apiece.  Whittington has a pair of top five finishes in the Ergon, Inc. Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance  602 Circle Track Engine.

                Pulliam took the win last Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway, and finished fifth in Week 1 action there driving the Crosby Tugs Chevrolet.  The initial results posted by the track had car owner Richard Freeman listed as the driver, but that has since been corrected moving Pulliam into the tie for the second spot.

                Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS  holds down the fourth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 93 points after a pair of top five finishes in the Jarrell Rigged Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

                A win at Talladega Short Track last week has Clint Vaughn of Odenville, MS  in the fifth spot of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 92 points driving the Vaughn Racing Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine. 

Richie Stephens of Salem, AL and Jay Geddie of Ellisville, MS are tied for the sixth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division  points chase with 90 points apiece.  Stephens has a top five finish driving the Rocketman Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.  Geddie has one top five and two top ten finishes driving the Geddie Tree Service Chevrolet.

John Smartt of Manchester, TN drove the Smartt Racing Chevrolet to the Week 2 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division win last Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park.  The victory and another top five finish has put Smartt into the eighth spot in the standings with 88 points.

David Windham of Florala, AL, Larry Faulk of Monroeville, AL, and Branden Harris of Molino, FL are in a three-way tie for the ninth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 87 points apiece.

Windham has one win and two top five finishes in the Florala Pharmacy Chevrolet and Faulk has two top five finishes in the Faulk Motorsports Chevrolet.  The NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stocks of Windham and Faulk are powered by the $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.  Harris has a pair of top five finishes driving the Coastal Engine and Machine Chevrolet.

Drivers in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division will compete against each other nationally using a points system that will count their best 14 weekly point totals over a 27-week season from March 23 through September 27.  The $5,000 National point fund will pay $2,000 to the National Champion and pay back to the Top 10 drivers in the final point standings.

NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competitors also have the option to compete with the economical steel-head 350 horsepower Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine that is available at NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA for $3,495 with free next day delivery anywhere in the Southeast.
