NeSMITH PERFORMANCE PARTS STREET STOCK DIVISION ROUND UP FOR JULY 29

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL extended his NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point lead after taking his seventh win of the season in Week 18 competition on Saturday night at Moulton Speedway in Moulton, AL driving the Bass Sports Online Chevrolet powered by a $3,195 Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine.

                Spears netted on a 44 to bring his best 14 week NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point total to 680 points after seven wins, 13 top five finishes and a series-leading 16 top ten finishes in 17 races.  Spears now holds a nine point lead over Trey Bright of Coker, AL in the battle for the Championship.

                Bright did not compete in NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 18 action, and remains with a best 14 week point total of 471 after six wins, 13 top five finishes and 15 top ten finishes in 17 races driving the AKA Cores Chevrolet.

                Wayne Medders of Morton, MS is third in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 619 points after four top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 18 races driving the Medders Construction Chevrolet.  Medders finished seventh on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS.

                Dave Nations of Raymond, MS also did not compete in NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 18 action, but remains fourth in the standings with 609 points after one win, nine top five finishes and 12 top ten finishes in 14 races over 13 weeks driving the Street Stock Set Up Specialists Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine.

                Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS is fifth in the standings with a best 14 week total of 599 points after five top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 14 races driving the American Portable Buildings Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine.  Leftwich did not compete in NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 18 action.

                Chad Hiers of Ocean Springs, MS finished fifth on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in the Hiers Construction Chevrolet, and is sixth in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings reaching the 14 week mark of his season with 585 points.  Hiers has nine top five finishes and 12 top ten finishes in 16 races.

                Charles Coan of Danville, AL remains in the seventh spot in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings after a 41 point night at Moulton Speedway driving the Coan Racing Chevrolet.  Coan has eight top ten finishes in 12 races.  Eddie Willis of Saucier, MS still holds down the eighth spot in the standings with 529 points after two wins, 11 top five finishes and 15 top ten finishes in 16 races over 12 weeks driving the Willis Racing Chevrolet.

                Roger Flynn of Denham Springs, LA is ninth in the standings with 523 points after finishing second on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in the Flynn Racing Chevrolet.  Flynn has a series-leading eight wins, 12 top five finishes and 13 top ten finishes in 14 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division races over 11 weeks. 

Stacy Herron of Kiln, MS rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 505 points after one win, seven top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in 12 races over 12 weeks driving the S&B Contracting Chevrolet.  Herron finished fourth on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park.

In other NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 18 action, Bill Pulliam of Ovett, MS drove the Crosby Tugs Chevrolet to his third win of the season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park.  Richard Maye of Eastaboga, AL took the win on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the Maye Racing Chevrolet.

There were two NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 18 rainouts on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS and at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.  A total of 221 different drivers have earned points in the first 16 weeks of NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division competition.
