NeSMITH CHEVROLET OLD MAN’S GARAGE WEEKLY RACING SERIES JULY 29 ROUND UP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 18 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series season saw Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS establish himself as the front runner for the $10,000 Championship after taking his series-leading 11th win on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS driving the Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star.

                Daspit netted on a 46 to bring his best 14 week point total to 691, nine points away from a perfect score of 700.  Daspit has 11 wins and 20 top five finishes in 22 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series races, and has a 41-point lead over Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS.  Scarbrough finished fifth on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park.

                Scarbrough has a best 14-week point total of 650 after two wins, ten top five finishes and 17 top ten finishes in 24 races driving the Villa South Trak-Star.  Scarbrough has a one-point advantage in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings over the third-place driver, Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS.

Lee finished third on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in the Billy Riels Racing GRT, as he reached the 14 week mark of his season.  Lee has 649 points after three wins, 19 top five finishes and 20 top ten finishes in 22 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series races.

Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL finished third on Saturday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL driving the Zaxby’s Rocket.  Dudley climbed to fourth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 626 points after seven wins, 13 top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes in 14 races over 13 weeks.

Robby Moore is fifth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 618 points after one win, 13 top five finishes and 17 top ten finishes in 17 races over 13 weeks driving the Custom Race Cars Trak-Star.  Moore finished eighth on Saturday night at West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO.

Derrick Mackmer of Purvis, MS is sixth in the standings with a best 14 week point total of 615 after five top five finishes and 16 top ten finishes in 22 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series races.  Mackmer drove the Mackmer Home Buyers Special to a seventh-place finish on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park.

Joey Smith is seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 600 points after driving the Plastic Tank Shop.com Special to a fifth-place finish on Saturday night at West Plains Motor Speedway.  Smith has four wins, ten top five finishes and 16 top ten finishes in 18 races over 13 weeks.

Bobby Jordan of McCarley, MS is eighth in the standings with a best 14 week point total of 594 after seven top five finishes and nine top ten finishes in 17 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series races driving the Henderson Waste and Recycling Trak-Star.

Jeff Glisson of Boaz, KY finished second on Saturday night at West Plains Motor Speedway driving the SGR Equipment Rocket to move up to the ninth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 591 points.  Glisson has two wins, nine top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 14 races over 13 weeks.

Doug Sanchagrin of Florence, MS rounds out the top ten in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week point total of 583.  Sanchagrin has two top five finishes and nine top ten finishes in 18 races driving the Permanent Exterior Solutions Trak-Star.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 18 action, Richie Stephens of Salem, AL drove the K&J Trucking Special to his second win of the season on Saturday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway.  Bobby Skinner took his first win of the season on Saturday night at West Plains Motor Speedway driving the Classy Chassis Auto Restoration Rocket.

Cody Smith of Holt, FL picked up his fourth straight NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series win at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL driving the Smith’s Performance Rocket.  Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL also took his fourth straight win on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the Adam Gauldin Racing GRT.

There were three NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 18 Saturday night rainouts at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.  Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS did not report their Week 18 results.

Two-time Champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL continues to lead the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge after Daspit gave them their 33rd win of the season. 

Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV took over sole possession of the second spot after Skinner and Smith gave them their 19th and 20th wins of the season.  The defending and four-time NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR is third after Gauldin gave them their 19th win of the season.

Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN is fourth with six wins.  Also participating in the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge and still looking for their first wins are Stinger Race Cars built by J.T. Kerr Racing Equipment of Rockford, TN, TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN, and CVR Race Cars of Lenoir City, TN.
