NeSMITH CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES ROUND-UP FOR April 7, 2008

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS, Mark Clifton of Brewton, AL, and Derrek Fisher of Columbus, IN won NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series events over the weekend.  Mother Nature was the big winner, however, as she rained out nine of the 12 scheduled events for the weekend.

                Keeton, the two-time and defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion, picked up his third straight win on Saturday night by besting a 20-car field at A1 Raceway in Slidell, LA.  Keeton is batting 1,000 with three wins in three starts, and has accumulated a West Region leading 142 points.

                Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS finished second to Keeton at A1 Raceway, and has climbed into the second spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region with 124 points.  Herman Reynolds of Laurel, MS finished third at A1 and is third in the West Region standings with 114 points.

                Josh Huss of Flomaton, AL recorded his second straight second-place finish on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL to sit in the fourth spot of the West Region standings with 83 points.  Donald Watson of Greenwell Springs, LA posted his second straight top five finish at A1 Raceway to climb into the fifth spot in the West Region with 80 points.

                Talbert Goldman of Meridian, MS is sixth in the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region standings with 78 points, and Bo Odom of Brewton, AL is seventh with 76 points.  Chris Griffin of Brewton, AL is eighth with 75 points.  David Knight of Independence, LA is ninth with 74 points, and Micha McCall of Flomaton, AL rounds out the top ten with 72 points.

                In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region action on Saturday night, Mark Clifton of Brewton, AL was the winner at Flomaton Speedway.  Baton Rouge Raceway in Baton Rouge, LA and Southern Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS were rained out on Friday, while Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS, and Butler County Motorsports Park in Greenville, AL were rained out on Saturday night.

                Fisher topped a 17-car field on Saturday night to take the win at Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon, IN, and moved into the sixth-spot of the rain-plagued NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region.  Dana Eiland of Salem, AL leads the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region standings with 90 points.

                Richie Stephens of Phenix City, AL is second in the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS East Region standings with 84 points, and Anthony Meadows of Lanett, AL is third with 78 points.  Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL is fourth with 63 points, and Mark Patterson of Valley, AL is fifth with 60 points.

                Fisher has 50 points in sixth, and Terrance Nowell of Phenix City, AL is tied for seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS East Region at 48 points with David Daughtery of Carmel, IN.  Shane Thompson of Phenix City, AL and Justin Shaw of North Vernon, IN are tied for the tenth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region standings with 46 points.

                Twin Cities Raceway Park was the only track that was able to compete in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region, as Penton Raceway in Penton, AL was rained out on Friday night, while Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, AL, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL, and Chattahoochee Valley Motor Speedway in Dothan, AL were all rained out on Saturday night.
