NeSMITH CHEVROLET DLMS TECHNICAL BULLETIN: INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKET REVISION

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Chevrolet Performance Parts has a revision on the intake manifold gasket for the 88958604 circle track engine, also known as the Chevrolet Performance 604 Crate Engine that is used in the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series and Weekly Racing Series.

The intake manifold gasket has been in use since mid-2012, and is the gasket suggested to be used henceforth by NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Authorized Rebuilders for repairs and/or rebuilding/refreshing of previously used Chevrolet Performance 604 Crate Engines.

The part number is 12497760 and is sold as a kit with two gaskets. China wall sealant used with this gasket could be any of three colors; light gray, dark gray, or black. The old intake manifold gasket pair was part number 89017465, and also used with China wall sealant of light gray, dark gray, or black.

The old gasket was used from 2002 through mid-2012 is still legal for engines purchased, repaired, rebuilt, or refreshed prior to these dates. Again, it is suggested that the new gaskets be used for any future repairs, rebuilds, or refreshing of Chevrolet Performance 604 Crate Engines.
