NeSMITH LATE MODELS HAS RESTRUCTURED POINT FUND FOR 2015

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – NeSmith Racing has announced the restructuring of the 2015 Points Fund for NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division at the Performance Racing Industry Show. The point fund total will remain at $50,000, but in addition to a portion that will feature a season-end payout; the point fund will also reward participation on a race-by-race basis.

At each NeSmith Late Model Touring event, beginning with the second points paying race of the season, drivers in the Top 10 of the NeSmith Late Model point standings with perfect attendance will be paid a $125 Bonus out of the Winner’s Circle Program. Once a driver misses a race, that driver will drop out of the program.

Should a driver not in the Top 10 of the points at any point during the season race his way into the Top 10 if the NeSmith Late Model point standings, they would then be eligible to receive Winner’s Circle money has long as they stay in the Top 10 of the point and keep a perfect attendance record at Touring Division events.

The season ending guaranteed points fund will pay $10,000 to the National Champion, $3,500 for second, $2,500 for third, $2,250 for fourth, $1,750 for fifth, $1,500 for sixth, $1,250 for seventh, $1,000 for eighth, $750 for ninth, and $500 for tenth. If the tenth-place driver has perfect attendance he could total $1,750 out of the point fund.

“The NeSmith Late Models have paid out a generous $50,000 point fund to the Top 10 drivers in the point standings at the end of the season for the past ten seasons, and we will continue to offer up that total amount,” NeSmith Racing Founder and CEO Mike Vaughn said. “We have decided to divide up our point fund into a season-end payout, and a “pay-as-you-race” payout in an effort to help our competitors get to each race.”

Vaughn said he and his staff have talked to several drivers about the new program over the last few months, and they unanimously were in favor of a Winner’s Circle Program.

“Every driver said they were more concerned with what they were going to make at the race they were at to see if they could make enough money to get to the next one,” Vaughn said. “They liked the idea of the Winner’s Circle Program because if they had a bad night, they would have a little assurance if they were in the Top 10 of the points with perfect attendance they could still make some travel money.”

NeSmith Racing made several announcements during the PRI Show concerning its three Divisions of NeSmith Late Models, the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series, and the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stocks. Details of those announcements will be released in the coming days. NeSmith Racing will announce some new tracks, new events, and the 2015 Touring schedules.

DUCK RIVER RACEWAY PARK TO HOST NeSMITH LATE MODEL 5K-TO-WIN RACE ON MAY 1-2

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – NeSmith Racing officials announced at the Performance Racing Industry Show that Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN will host the $5,000-to-win Rumble At The River 75 for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division on May 1-2. The race will be the first visit to Duck River Raceway Park for the NeSmith Late Models since 2007.

On May 1 at Duck River Raceway Park, the NeSmith Late Models will compete in Qualifying and Heat Races to determine the front half of the starting field for the Rumble At The River 75. On May 2, the NeSmith Late Models will compete in B-Main races to determine the back half of the starting field, and that will be followed by the $5,000-to-win main event.

“This will be the first two-day $5,000-to-win show the NeSmith Late Models have done in a couple of years, and we couldn’t think of a better place to do it than at Duck River Raceway Park,” NeSmith Racing Founder and CEO Mike Vaughn said. “Bob Harris and David Earl Gentry have done a great job with improvements both on and off the track, and we can’t wait to get there.”
