NEA SPEEDWAY BRINGS NeSMITH STREET STOCKS TO ARKANSAS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – NeSmith Racing officials announced today at the Performance Racing Industry Show that NEA (Northeast Arkansas) Speedway in Harrisburg, AR has signed on with the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division for the 2016 season, and the first track in Arkansas to do so. The NeSmith Street Stocks are now sanctioned at tracks in eight different states.

Drivers in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division at NEA Speedway will compete for both a track point fund and a National point fund. In competing for the National NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point fund, NEA Speedway drivers will compete against drivers at other NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division tracks throughout the country.

The 2016 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division season for National points will be for 27 weeks from March 21, 2016 through September 25, 2016. During the 27-week season, a driver’s best 14 weekly point totals will count towards their National total. The $5,000 NeSmith Performance Parts National point fund will pay $2,000 to the National Champion and pay back ten spots in the final point standings.

“I saw the NeSmith Street Stocks two years ago at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS before I became a track promoter and I was very impressed with the way they raced each other and the way the cars were closely teched,” NEA Speedway Promoter Fred Edwards said. “Now that I am promoting NEA Speedway, I had to bring them in, and I’ve got a good core of racers that are welcoming it. It’s a great Division where a $3,500 crate engine can compete on a level playing field with a $20,000 open motor on a level playing field. The NeSmith Street Stocks are more about talent than cubic dollars.”

The NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division also gives competitors economical options with both engines and chassis. NeSmith Street Stock competitors have the option to compete with a replica frame that features the same dimensions and weight as a 1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo metric frame.

NeSmith Street Stock competitors also have the option of using the $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine, which is quickly becoming the engine of choice due to its price, ease of accessibility and maintenance, and durability. Eight of the top ten drivers in the 2015 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point standings, including the top four drivers, were using the Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.
