ALL-STAR DRIVER LINE-UP GIVES HIGH ANTICIPATION FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RACE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The anticipation is high for the $10,000-to-win 100-lap 10th Annual Chevrolet Performance World Championship Race for the NeSmith Late Models this Thursday through Saturday at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL.  This is due to the potential of having the most competitive field of cars and drivers ever assembled in the ten-year history of the race.

NeSmith Racing officials have compiled a list of drivers they’ve talked to that intend to be at Bubba Raceway Park this weekend.  The list represents an All-Star line-up will be highlighted by many top drivers from the super late model, NeSmith Late Model, the Northern States RUSH Series, and South Georgia/North Central Florida ranks among the 50 to 60 entrants expected.

Former Chevrolet Performance World Championship Race winners that will be looking for their second trophy include super late model drivers Ivedent Lloyd Jr. of Ocala, FL, Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA and Doug Horton of Wimamma, FL.  Super late model drivers joining them include Darrell Lannigan of Union, KY, Josh “Kid Rocket” Richards of Shinnston, WV, and Dennis “Rambo” Franklin of Gaffney, SC.

Super late model drivers Jake Knowles of Tyrone, GA and Kyle Bronson of Tampa, FL have come out of the NeSmith Racing family of dirt late model Divisions.  Knowles comes from the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series where he finished third in the 2014 points.  Bronson was the 2013 NeSmith Late Model Rookie of the Year and finished second in the point standings.

Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN has been at the super late model level of competition as many of the aforementioned drivers, as indicated by his place in the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame.  In recent years, Johnson has restructured his career by competing in the NeSmith Late Model Series and the Chevy Super Series.

Johnson has already sewed up his second straight $20,000 NeSmith Late Model Championship this season, and the 2014 Chevy Super Series title worth $10,000.  One race win that has been on Johnson’s “Bucket List” for the past ten years is to win the Chevrolet Performance World Championship Race.

Chris Noah of Rainbow City, AL has clinched the 2014 NeSmith Late Model Rookie of the Year title and the second spot in the point standings.  Behind Noah, there is a plethora of drivers that are still battling for the Top 10 points fund paying spots in the standings.  The Chevrolet Performance World Championship Race will be their last opportunity to make a move to a higher paying spot.

Johnny Stokes of Columbus, MS, Michael Blount of Sumrall, MS, Brent Barrett of Cleveland, MS, Marcus Minga of Shannon, MS, Chase Edge of LaFayette, AL, and Walker Arthur of Forest, VA are among the Top 10 NeSmith Late Model drivers expected this weekend at Bubba Raceway Park.

Other NeSmith Late Model drivers expected for the season finale are Justin McRee of Woodstock, AL, two-time NeSmith Late Model National Champion David Earl Gentry of Murfreesboro, TN, Jeff Smith of Chatsworth, GA, and Pierce McCarter of Gatlinburg, TN.

Drivers expected form the NeSmith Late Models sister series, the Northern States RUSH Series include a pair of Champions and last year’s Chevrolet Performance World Championship Race runner-up.

The 2014 RUSH Series Champion 17-year-old Ryan Montgomery of Fairmont, WV will be joined at Bubba Raceway Park this weekend by the 2014 RUSH Series “Futures Champion” 13-year-old Michael Lake of Uniontown, PA, and his teammate will be Mike Pegher Jr. of Cranberry Township, PA, who finished second in last year’s race.

A strong local and regional contingent of drivers also have the ability to keep the big money the World Championship Race has to offer right on their home turf.  Among the local and regional favorites are Shan Smith of Dade City, FL who has two second-place finishes in the race, Mark Whitener of Middleburg, FL, Keith Nosbisch of Valrico, FL, Bryan Bernhardt of Clearwater, FL, Jeff Mathews of Dover, FL, and 12-year-old Tyler Clem of St. Petersburg, FL.

Bubba Raceway Park is well known as being a track that is racy from top to bottom with multiple racing grooves.  A winner can come from any starting spot in the field for the 100-lap race, as shown last year when Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC came from the 19th starting spot to win the race.

The 10th Annual World Championship Race also features a generous payout:
