NeSMITH CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES WEEK 26 PREVIEW

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series has two weeks left in the 2014 season.  Week 26 will be a light one with just six events on the schedule which will be good for some drivers, and bad for others.  The top two spots in the point standings have been determined, but just ten points separate third through tenth.

Last weekend, Chris Holley of Dayton, TX has clinched the 2014 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Championship with a “Perfect Score” of 700 points, and Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS has clinched the National Championship Runner-Up spot for the second straight season.

There are still eight more points fund-paying spots to be decided in the next two weeks with 13 drivers still eligible for them.  Some will get to run at their home tracks, and others will not because they’re home tracks are not on the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 26 schedule of events.

A 50-point win by Arnold in each of the last two weeks of the season would net him five points and bring his final total to 695 points.  Behind Arnold, there are four drivers that will battle him for the third spot in the 2014 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings over the last two weeks of the season.

Delbert Smith of Wichita, KS and Ryan King of Seymour, TN are tied for the fourth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings, as each driver has a best 14 week total of 689 points.  Both Smith and King can net a possible six points in the last two weeks of the season, and like Arnold, they could total 695 points.

Rusty Ballenger of Sevierville, TN is tied with Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL for the sixth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series, as each driver has a best 14 week total of 686 points.

Ballenger will be looking to net four points in the final two weeks of the season, which would bring his season total to 690 with two 50-point wins in each of the last two weeks of the season.  Gauldin will try to net five points with 50-point wins in each of the last two weeks of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season that would bring his season total to 691 points.

Daniel Bridgmon of Meridian, MS is tied with Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS for the eighth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings, as each driver has a best 14 week total of 682 points.

NeSMITH/AR BODIES STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 26 PREVIEW

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – There are two weeks to go in the 2014 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies season.  For Week 26, the 2014 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division National Champion Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS try to take another step towards a “Perfect Season,” while battles for the rest of the top ten points fund-paying spots rage on.

There are five races on the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 26 schedule of events beginning this Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS.  Saturday night Week 26 races are scheduled for Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL, Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, MO, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

Idom will be looking to net on a 49, which is the lowest among his best 14 week total of 698 points.  Idom will need a 50-point win this week to bring his best 14 week season total to 699 points, and then he will have to net on another 49 in the final week of the season with a 50-point win to reach a perfect score of 700 points.

The best battle among the Top 10 in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings is between the 2013 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division National Champion Trey Bright of Coker, AL and Larry Faulk of Pace, FL, who are tied for the second spot in the standings with a best 14 week total of 683 points.

Bright has the tie-breaker advantage of seven 50-point wins to six for Faulk.  Bright will be trying to net on two 46s in the final two weeks of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division season that could give him a possible best 14 week total of 691 points.

Faulk can earn a possible best 14 week total of 693 points with a 50-point win in each of the two remaining weeks of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division season by netting on a 44 and a 46.

Kevin Whittington of Brandon, MS is fourth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 678 points.  Whittington can net on a pair of 45s in the two weeks of the season with the possibility to gain ten points with a 50-point win in each of the last two weeks of the season that would bring his final point tally to 688 points.

David Windham of Florala, FL is fifth in the standings with a best 14 week total of 673 points.  Windham will be trying to net on two 46s in the last two weeks of the season.  Branden Harris of Molino, FL is sixth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 662 points.  Over the final two weeks of the season, Harris will try to net on a 41 and a 43.

Jay Geddie of Ellisville, MS is ninth in the standings with a best 14 week total of 651 points and will be trying to net on a 41 and a 42 over the final two weeks of the season.  Dean Shaw of Defuniak Springs, FL rounds out the Top 10 of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 648 points, and he will be trying to net on a 41 and a 43.

There is one driver outside the Top 10 of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings that can earn a seat at the Annual Awards Banquet table, and that is Calvin Cook of Pace, FL.  Cook is 16th in the standings with 611 points, and he still has one more week to earn full points.

A 50-point win in Week 26 competition and then netting on a 41 in the final week of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division season would bring Cook’s best 14 week total to 670 points.  That would be good enough to earn Cook a trip to the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville, GA for the banquet.

Drivers that race at NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts a driver’s best 14 weekly point totals during the 27-week season that runs through September 28.  The 2014 NeSmith/AR Bodies National Champion will pocket $2,000 and the National point fund pays back to the Top 10 drivers at the end of the season.
