NeSMITH CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES WEEK 25 ROUND UP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The battle for second-place in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings tightened up after Week 25 competition.  Just ten points separate second through sixth in the points chase and the fight for the tenth and final points fund-paying position is also up for grabs with two weeks to go in the 2015 season.

The 2015 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS continued his winning ways on Saturday night, as he topped a 23-car field at Jackson Motor Speedway to claim the $1,000 top prize at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS driving The Strength Center Special.

Arnold has a perfect 14 week total of 700 points, representing 14 50-point wins.  In 32 races, Arnold has turned in a new single-season series record of 19 wins, 24 top five finishes and 27 top ten finishes.  Arnold has won at six different tracks this season, and a win at seventh track would be a new NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series single season record.

Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS gained one point with a second-place finish on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS driving the MP Trucking Special.  Palasini now has a best 14-week total of 693 points after eight wins and 17 top five finishes in 21 races to hold the second spot in the standings.  Palasini is trying to earn the National Championship Runner-Up honors for the third straight season.

In 23 races, Skinner has seven wins, 16 top five finishes and 20 top ten finishes.  The 14-year-old driver continues to lead the Sunoco Young Guns Challenge Series point standings for NeSmith Late Model drivers 18 years of age and younger.  Sunoco Race Fuels, the Official Race Fuel of NeSmith Racing, is putting up a $5,000 points fund that will pay the top Young Gun $1,000 at the end of the year, and pay back through the top ten spots.

Robbie Starnes of Livingston, TX finished second on Saturday night at Battleground Race Park in Highlands, TX to net one point and stay in the fourth spot of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 688 points.  Starnes has six wins, 20 top five finishes and 22 top ten finishes in 22 races driving the Lonestar Hydro Maintenance Special.

The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS is fifth in the standings with a best 14 week total of 685 points after seven wins, 14 top five finishes, and 19 top ten finishes in 24 races.  Daspit took the Billy Riels Racing Special to Jackson Motor Speedway on Saturday night and finished 20th, therefore not netting any points.

Joseph Joiner of Milton, FL drove the Three Trade Consultants Special to a fourth-place finish on September 7 to open Week 25 competition at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL to stay on top of the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series point standings.

Joiner was able to net one point in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings and now has a best 14 week total of 669 points.  Joiner is eighth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings after two wins, 17 top five finishes and 20 top ten finishes in 21 races.

Cole Daffron of Pell City, AL is ninth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with a best 14 week total of 656 points after 12 top five finishes and 15 top ten finishes in 17 races.  Daffron finished fourth on Saturday night at Camden Speedway in the TSR Race Cars Warrior to net two points.
