FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS chalked up win number 12 of the 2014 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS driving the Performance Bodies “Throwback” 1957 Chevrolet.  Idom netted three points and is now seven points away from a “Perfect Season.”

Idom now has a best 14 week total of 693 points represented by ten of his 12 wins, two 49-point second-place finishes, one 48-point third-place finish and one 47-point fourth-place finish.  A perfect season is represented by 14 weekly 50-point wins for a total of 700 points.  Idom now has six weeks to record four more 50-point wins.  Idom will try to net on the 47 in his next race.

In the first 21 weeks of the 27-week NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division season, Idom has turned in 12 wins, 21 top five finishes and 22 top ten finishes in 23 races.  Idom’s Friday night victory was his fourth straight at Hattiesburg Speedway.

David Windham of Florala, AL is second in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 666 points.  Windham finished tenth on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL and did not net any points in Week 21 competition driving the Florala Pharmacy Chevrolet.

For the first 21 weeks of the 2014 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division season, Windham has recorded one win, 18 top five finishes and 22 top ten finishes in 24 races.  In his next race, Windham will be looking to net on a 43, which means he needs to finish seventh or better to gain any points in a field of eight or more cars.

Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS drove the STR Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a $3,295 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to a third-place finish on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway.  Leftwich was able to net seven points and bring his best 14 week total to 657 points to remain in the third spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings.

Leftwich has 12 top five finishes and 16 top ten finishes in 21 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division races this season.  Leftwich will be trying to net on a 41 and will gain points to his season total with a ninth-place finish or better in his next series event.

Branden Harris of Molino, FL took his second win of the season on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL driving the Coastal Engine and Machine Chevrolet to net 25 points.  That moved Harris from sixth to fourth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 644 points.

Harris has two wins, 12 top five finishes and 16 top ten finishes in 17 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division races.  Harris will try to net on a 38 in his next series race, so a 50-point win would net him another 12 points.

Dean Shaw of Defuniak Springs, FL held on to the fifth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings after driving the S&S Electronics Chevrolet to an eighth-place finish on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway to net seven points.  Shaw has a best 14 week total of 631 points after one win, 11 top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes in 15 races.  Shaw will try to net on a 38 in his next race.

The defending NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division National Champion Trey Bright of Coker, AL continued his climb up the point standings after driving the Eaton Clinic Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to a second-place finish on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.

Bright is up to the sixth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 629 points and one more week to earn full points.  A 50-point win in his next series race would shoot Bright up to the second spot in the point standings.  In 19 races over 13 weeks, Bright has six wins, 14 top five finishes and 18 top ten finishes.  Mike Lane of Pace, FL is seventh with 627 points.

Kevin Whittington of Brandon, MS picked up his sixth NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division win of the 2014 season on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS driving the Ergon, Inc. Chevrolet.  The victory moved Whittington from 12th to eighth in the standings with 621 points and one more week to earn full points.

Whittington has six wins, ten top five finishes and 13 top ten finishes in 16 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division races over 13 weeks of competition.  A 50-point win in his next series race would move Whittington up into the Top 5 of the point standings.

Michael Williams of Saucier, MS is ninth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 619 points after 11 top five finishes and 13 top ten finishes in 18 races.  Williams finished fifth in his final week to earn full points on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in the Williams Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.  Williams will now try to net on a 39 in his next race.
