NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies News Release: Contact – ROBY HELM – (865) 207-4157 July 28, 2014 NeSMITH/AR BODIES STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 18 ROUND UP FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CARTERSVILLE, GA – Point leader Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS and Larry Faulk of Pace, FL were the big winners in NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies Week 18 action. The second and third-place drivers in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings were also took part in Week 18 competition and netted points. Idom planted himself as the favorite to capture the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division National Championship with his ninth win of the season driving the Performance Bodies “Throwback” 1957 Chevrolet on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS. That brings Idom’s series-leading best 14 weekly total to 674 points after nine wins, 17 top five finishes, and 18 top ten finishes in 20 races. The win also gave Idom the highest Weekly Point Average (WPA) among the Top 20 drivers in the point standings at 48.14 out of a possible 50. Idom will once again try to net on a 41 in his next NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division race. Faulk won both NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Feature Races on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL driving the L&H Construction Chevrolet powered by a $3,295 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine. Faulk was able to net 24 points with the twin wins and move up to the seventh spot in the point standings. David Windham of Florala, AL is second in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 658 points after one win, 16 top five finishes and 19 top ten finishes in 21 races. Windham drove the Florala Pharmacy Chevrolet to a second-place finish on Saturday night in the Week 2 Make-Up Race and a fifth-place finish in the Week 18 Race at Southern Raceway to net a total of ten points. Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS is third in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 637 points after nine top five finishes and 13 top ten finishes in 17 races. Leftwich finished second on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in the STR Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to net eight points. The fourth, fifth and sixth-place drivers in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings did not compete in Week 18 competition, but remained in their respective spots in the points chase. Mike Lane of Pace, FL is fourth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 627 points after ten wins, 15 top five finishes and 17 top ten finishes in 20 races driving the Lane’s Vinyl Siding Chevrolet. Dean Shaw of Defuniak Springs, FL is fifth with 577 points and one more week to earn full points. Shaw has one win, ten top five finishes and 12 top ten finishes in 13 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division races driving the S&S Electronics Chevrolet. Branden Harris of Molino, FL driving the Coastal Engine & Machine Chevrolet is in the sixth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 571 points. Harris has one win, nine top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 15 races. Harris still has one more week to earn full points. Faulk moved into the Top 10 of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings with his two wins over the weekend. Faulk has a best 14 week total of 555 points after three wins, 12 top five finishes and 16 top ten finishes in 21 races. Phillip Haynes of Anniston, AL did not earn any points in NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 18 competition and dropped to eighth in the point standings. Haynes has a best 14 week total of 554 points after one win, 12 top five finishes and 13 top ten finishes in 16 races driving the Jeff Owens & Associates Chevrolet. Garrett McDonald of Pace, FL is ninth in the standings with 530 points and still has two more weeks to earn full points. In 14 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division races, McDonald has two wins, six top five finishes and nine top ten finishes driving the Copperhead Chassis Chevrolet. McDonald did not compete in Week 18 action. Michael Williams of Saucier, MS used a fourth-place finish on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway to move into the tenth spot of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 525 points and he has two more weeks to earn full points. Williams has eight top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 15 races driving the Williams Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine. In other NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 18 action, Sean Goodwin of Pensacola, FL drove the Climate Control of Pensacola, FL Chevrolet to his second win of the season on Friday night at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL. Gregg Hollingsworth of Lawrence, MS took his second NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division win of the season on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS driving the 100 Service Center Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet 602 Circle Track Engine. Jud Hurst of Lineville, AL took his first win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the Hurst Construction Chevrolet. A total of 250 drivers have earned points in 18 weeks of NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competition.
