NeSMITH CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES WEEK 16 ROUND UP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS picked up a pair of wins in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 16 action, and several other drivers used wins and top five finishes to advance themselves in the point standings as they battle for the $10,000 National Championship.

Arnold drove The Strength Center Special to his third NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series win of the season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS.  The next night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS, the “Hattiesburg Hustler” collected the $1,000 top prize in the Highway 45 Challenge Series race with is fourth victory of the season.

With three more weeks to earn full points before reaching the 14-week mark of his season, Arnold sits just outside the Top 20 in the point standings, and could be a driver to watch in the next few weeks to see just how high he can climb on the points list.

Chris Holley of Dayton, TX took his ninth NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series win of the season on Saturday night at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX driving the Land Bridge Transportation Special.  That vaulted Holley up the point standings with 548 points and into the eighth spot with three more weeks to earn full points.

In 11 starts, Holley has nine wins, and in the two races he didn’t win, he finished second.  Holley has 11 weeks to try and capture five more victories and a perfect score of 700 points represented by 14 50-point wins.

A trio of drivers from 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN continued their climb to approach the Top 10 on the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series points list with three more weeks to earn full points.

Rusty Ballenger of Sevierville, TN drove the Rehel Diesel Special to his third $1,000 win of the season on Saturday night at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN to move up to the 16th spot in the point standings.  Ryan King of Seymour, TN finished second and moved up to the 15th position in the point standings, and Adam Beeler of Knoxville, TN finished third and climbed to the 13th spot.

The journey to the Top 10 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings for Ballenger, King and Beeler, will take a pit stop this Saturday, as 411 Motor Speedway will not be in action.  Looming on the schedule at 411 Motor Speedway, however, will be Twin $750-to-win, $75-to-start races on August 9.  The first race will be a Week 14 Make-Up Race.
