NeSMITH/AR BODIES STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 12 ROUND UP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – Richie Stephens of Salem, AL highlighted Week 12 for the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies by driving the Sauls Farms Chevrolet powered by a $3,295 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to a $1,000 victory Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS. 

Stephens topped a 37-car field for his fourth win of the season in a race that was co-sanctioned by the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division and the Mississippi Street Stock Series.  The race was highlighted by a side-by-side duel for the lead between Stephens and the defending NeSmith/AR Bodies National Champion Trey Bright of Coker, AL, who finished second.

In other NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 12 action, Mike Lane of Pace, FL, Tyler Hurst of Lineville, AL, Kevin Mitchell of Pensacola, FL, Doug Lea of Milton, FL, and Darren Fox of Mount Grove, MO visited Victory Lane.

Lane drove the Lane’s Vinyl Siding Chevrolet to his seventh NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock win of the season on Friday night at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL.  Hurst drove the NSC Heating and Air Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to his seventh win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

Mitchell took his first NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division win of the season on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL driving the Guy Brothers Roofing Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.  Lea was also a first-time winner this season on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL driving the L&L Construction Services Chevrolet.

Fox took his second NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division win of the season on Saturday night at Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, MO driving the Snappy Mart Chevrolet.  There was one Week 12 rainout, and that came on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS.

Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS continues to lead the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 532 points after six top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in 12 races over 12 weeks.  Leftwich finished outside the top ten on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway, but still earned 41 points driving the STR Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

David Windham of Florala, AL turned in a pair of second-place finishes in NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 12 competition on Friday night at Northwest Florida Speedway and on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway driving the Florala Pharmacy Chevrolet.  Windham is second in the standings with 522 points after one win, eight top five finishes and 11 top ten finishes in 14 races over 12 weeks.

Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS is third in the standings with 518 points after seven wins, 13 top five finishes and 14 top ten finishes in 16 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division races over 11 weeks driving the Performance Bodies “Throwback” 1957 Chevrolet.  Idom finished outside the top ten on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway, but still earned 41 points.

Lane is fourth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 474 points after seven wins, 11 top five finishes and 13 top ten finishes.  Dean Shaw of Defuniak Springs, FL is fifth with 440 points after one win, eight top five finishes and nine top ten finishes in ten races over ten weeks.  Shaw finished third on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway driving the S&S Electronics Chevrolet.

James “Scooter” Ware of West Point, MS and Kevin Whittington of Brandon, MS are tied for the sixth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 423 points apiece.  Ware did not compete in NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 12 action and has three wins, six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in ten races over 11 weeks driving the Peay’s Auto Salvage Chevrolet.

Whittington drove the Ergon, Inc. Chevrolet to a third-place finish on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway.  Whittington has four wins, six top five finishes and eight top ten finishes nine races over nine weeks.

Garrett McDonald of Pace, FL is eighth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 399 points after one win, four top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in ten races over nine weeks driving the Copperhead Chassis Chevrolet.  McDonald finished outside the top ten on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway, but still earned 41 points.

Phillip Haynes of Anniston, AL is ninth in the standings with 395 points after nine top five finishes in 11 races over ten weeks of NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competition.  Haynes drove the Jeff Owens and Associates Chevrolet to a third-place finish on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track.

Michael Williams of Saucier, MS rounds out the top ten in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 389 points after five top finishes and seven top ten finishes in ten races over nine weeks.  Williams finished outside the top ten on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway, but he still earned 41 points.
