NeSMITH CHEVROLET DLMS “SALUTE TO AMERICA” NATIONALS FINALE ON JULY 5 AT THE MAG

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS will host the third race of the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series “Salute To America” Nationals on July 5 with a 50-lap $2,500-to-win race.  The event will be presented by Columbus Nissan.

NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series officials didn’t have to wait long to find a replacement venue for the July 5 race.  Penton Raceway was scheduled to host the final leg of the three-race Salute To America Nationals on July 5, but track officials notified series officials on Monday that they were cancelling the race.

The three-race Salute To America Nationals will be Rounds 12, 13 and 14 of the 2014 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series season.  The Salute To America Nationals will open at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL on July 3 with a 40-lap $2,000-to-win race.

The second leg of the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Salute To America Nationals will be at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL on July 4 with a 50-lap $2,500-to-win race and a huge Fireworks Extravaganza.  Magnolia Motor Speedway will now host the third race on July 5 with a 50-lap $2,500-to-win race presented by Columbus Nissan.

The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Champion Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN and Mack McCarter of Gatlinburg, TN are locked in a tight battle for the $20,000 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Championship going into the Salute To America Nationals.  Johnson leads McCarter by just ten points after the first 11 races of the season.
