NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series News Release: Contact – ROBY HELM – (865) 207-4157 June 3, 2013 NeSMITH CHEVROLET OLD MAN’S GARAGE WEEKLY RACING SERIES ROUND UP FOR JUNE 3 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CARTERSVILLE, GA – The top three drivers remain the same in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings, even though they did not earn any points in Week 10 competition. There were some changes from fourth through tenth, as several drivers used Week 10 top ten finishes to move up in the standings. Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS remains the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point leader with 435 points after four wins, ten top five finishes and 12 top ten finishes in 13 races driving the Reynolds Motorsports/Billy Riels Racing GRT. Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS is second in the Billy Riels Racing Trak-Star with 427 points after four wins and ten top five finishes in ten races. Both Arnold and Daspit did not compete in NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 10 competition. Derrick Mackmer of Purvis, MS continues to hold down the third spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 398 points after four top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in the Mackmer Home Buyers Special. With Arnold and Daspit taking Week 10 off, Mackmer was in a position to take over the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point lead. An altercation with another driver on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA got Mackmer disqualified from the race, and he failed to earn any points. Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS drove the Villa South Trak-Star to a ninth-place finish Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS to move up to the fourth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings. Scarbrough has 391 points after one win, four top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 11 races. Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is fifth in the standings with 379 points after one win and 11 top five finishes in 12 races. For the second straight week, Lee did not compete in NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series competition while traveling with the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division where he is eighth in the point standings. The sixth through tenth-place drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings after Week 10 competition are separated by just 14 points. Bobby Jordon of McCarley, MS finished sixth on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway and is now sixth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 334 points. Jordan has three top five finishes and four top ten finishes in ten races driving the Henderson Waste and Recycling Trak-Star. Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS finished second on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in the MP Trucking Trak-Star and climbed up to the seventh spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings. Palasini has 327 points after one win and five top five finishes in eight races. Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA put his second NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series victory in the win column on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway driving the Sparks Motorsports Special. The win moved Trosclair up to the eighth position in the standings with 325 points after two wins, seven top five finishes, and nine top ten finishes in ten starts. Doug Sanchagrin of Florence, MS is ninth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 324 points after a seventh-place finish on Friday night at Whynot Motorsports Park. Sanchagrin has six top ten finishes in in ten starts driving the Permanent Exterior Solutions Trak-Star. Three-time West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 320 points. Keeton has six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in nine races driving the Lee Racing Trak-Star. In other Week 10 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series action, Jeff Glisson of Boaz, KY drove the SGR Equipment Rocket to victory on May 27 at Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN. Randy Boyd of Marion, MS was the winner on Friday night at Whynot Motorsports Park driving the Coca-Cola of Meridian Trak-Star. Pat Wall of Columbus, GA picked up his first NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series win of the season on Saturday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL driving the Wimmer’s Wrecker Service Rocket. Randy Polk of Milton, FL took his second win of the season on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL driving the Lucas Farms Trak-Star. Cliff Williams of Star, MS took his first NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series win of the season on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway driving the Star Plumbing Trak-Star. There were four Week 10 rainouts at NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series tracks. Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR was rained out on Friday night, while Clayhill Motorsport, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL and West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO were rained out on Saturday night. Two-time the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL leads the 2013 standings with 18 wins after three Week 10 victories from Boyd, Polk and Williams. Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV took over sole possession of the second spot with nine wins and a pair of Week 10 victories from Glisson and Wall. Four-time and defending NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Chassis Champ GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR is third with seven wins.
