NeSMITH/AR BODIES STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 10 ROUND UP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Richie Stephens of Salem, AL and Brooks Strength of Raymond, MS have been going toe-to-toe for the 2015 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies National Championship, and neither driver is showing a sign of weakness or letting up.  Stephens has the advantage in the point standings, and Strength has the Weekly Point Average advantage.

Stephens drove the Rocketman Race Cars Chevrolet to his sixth and seventh NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division wins of the season in Week 10 competition with victories on Friday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS and on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.  Stephens leads the points chase with 430 points.

Strength claimed his sixth win of the season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS driving the Sauls Farm Chevrolet.  Strength is third in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 398 points, but leads Stephens in the Weekly Point Average, or WPA, with a 49.75, while Stephens has the second highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers in points at 47.78.

Here’s the tale of the tape after the first ten weeks of the 27-week NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division season.  Stephens has seven wins, nine top five finishes and ten top ten finishes in 12 races in nine weeks of competition.  Strength has six wins and 11 top five finishes in 11 races over eight weeks of racing.  In head-to-head competition, each driver has beaten the other twice in four meetings.

Stephens has three NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division wins at Talladega Short Track, two wins at Hattiesburg Speedway, and one win apiece at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS and Magnolia Motor Speedway.  Strength has four wins at Hattiesburg Speedway, and one win apiece at Magnolia Motor Speedway and Whynot Motorsports Park.

Brandon Harris of Molino, FL is the meat in the Stephens/Strength point standings sandwich.  Harris is second in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 411 points after two wins, seven top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in nine races.  Harris finished third on May 25 at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL driving the Coastal Engine and Machine Chevrolet.

Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS is fourth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 383 points after five top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in ten races over eight weeks.  Jarrell had an 11th-place finish on May 25 at Flomaton Speedway driving the Jarrell Rigged Race Cars Chevrolet.

The top four drivers in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings are driving Street Stocks powered by the economical $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine that is an option to NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competitors over more expensive open engines.

Jay Geddie of Ellisville, MS drove the Geddie Tree Service Chevrolet to a second-place finish on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway and is fifth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 365 points.  Geddie has four top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in eight races.

Larry Faulk of Monroeville, AL had a fifth-place finish on May 25 at Flomaton Speedway and a 40-point win on Saturday night at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL.  Faulk is sixth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 359 points.

In ten races over eight weeks, Faulk has driven the Faulk Motorsports Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to one win, five top five finishes and ten top ten finishes.  Faulk gives the 602 Engine five of the top six spots in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings.

David Williamson of Seminary, MS is seventh in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 354 points after five top five finishes and six top ten finishes in eight races.  Williamson drove the Sauls Farm Ford to a fourth-place finish on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway.

Bo Bailey of Milton, FL moved up to the eighth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings after his first win of the season on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL driving the L&L Construction Services Chevrolet.  Bailey has 351 points after one win and seven top five finishes in eight races.

John Smartt of Manchester, TN failed to start the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division main event on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN and dropped to ninth in the standings with 347 points.  Smartt has three wins and seven top five finishes in eight races driving the Frontline Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

Cliff Childers of Terry, MS rounded out the Top 10 of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 319 points after four top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in seven races.  Childers finished seventh on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway driving the Reed’s Metal Racing Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

In other NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 10 action, Joel Landers of Shelbyville, TN drove the Joel’s Tire and Brake Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to his third win of the season on Saturday night at Duck River Raceway Park.  Landers also has made his first appearance in the Top 20 of the point standings and has the fourth highest WPA at 46.17.

Landers will be a driver to watch in the coming weeks, as will Sean Goodwin of Pensacola, FL, who drove the Goodwin Racing Chevrolet to his second win of the season on May 25 at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL.  In four NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division races this season, Goodwin has two wins and two second-place finishes.

Seven of the Top 10 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stocks in the point standings, along with five of seven Week 10 race winners, were powered by the $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.  The NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competitors have the option to use the economical 602 engine that is built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications.

The $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine is in stock and ready for free next day delivery anywhere in the Southeast from NeSmith Performance Parts, a division of NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA, the nation’s number one GM Powertrain and Performance Parts Dealer for eight years running.  To place an order, call Tim Bland at 1-877-497-3624.
