ROBBIE STARNES LEADS SOUTHERN CRATE LATE MODEL SERIES POINTS STANDINGS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – Robbie Starnes of Livingston, TX leads the Southern Crate Late Model Series point standings after the first three races of the 2015 season.  Starnes has 148 points after one win and three top five finishes driving the Lonestar Hydro and Maintenance Special.  Starnes won Round 1 at Lone Star Speedway in Kilgore, TX on April 4.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series co-sanctions the Southern Crate Late Model Series, and drivers not only run for a series point fund, but they also compete for NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National points and a $20,000 point fund that pays back ten spots and $10,000 to the National Champion.

Starnes leads Tootie Arnold of Meadville, MS by seven points in the Southern Crate Late Model Series point standings.  Arnold has 141 points after three top five finishes in three races driving Miss-Lou Mobile Home Movers Trak-Star. 

Eddie Provence of Hensley, AR is third in the standings with 137 points after two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in three races driving the Provence Signs Trak-Star.  Brant Tirello of Silver Creek, MS is fourth in the Southern Crate Late Model Series standings with 96 points after two top five finishes in two races driving the Reed’s Metals Trak-Star.

Joey Couvillion of Pineville, LA is fifth in the Southern Crate Late Model Series standings with 95 points.  Couvillion won Round 2 on April 25 at 171 Speedway in Leesville, LA driving the Big Shawn O’Toole & Associates GRT.  Couvillion has a win and two top ten finishes in two races.

Lew Lyles of West Monroe, LA is sixth in the standings with 92 points after one top five finish and two top ten finishes in two races driving the Lyles Racing Special.  Youth is served in the Top 10 of the Southern Crate Late Model Series by 12-year-old Colten Horner of Katy, TX, who is seventh in the standings with 90 points after a pair of sixth-place finishes in two races driving the Houston Specialty Products Special.

Horner is the youngest driver competing the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series and is also one of the Sunoco Young Guns Challenge Series drivers for youngsters 18 years of age and younger that will compete for a $5,000 point fund, with the top Young Gun pocketing $1,000 at the end of the season.  Horner is currently fifth in the Sunoco Young Guns Challenge Series point standings.

                Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS drove the MP Trucking Special to a Southern Crate Late Model Series victory in Round 3 last Saturday night at Underwood Speedway in Chatham, LA.  That gave Palasini 50 points and the eighth spot in the standings.  Palasini is a title contender for the $10,000 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Championship after being the Runner-Up for the past two seasons.

                Waylon Ball of El Dorado, AR is ninth in the standings with 47 points after a fourth-place in Round 1 at Lone Star Speedway.  David Horner of Katy, TX rounds out the Top 10 in the Southern Crate Late Model Series with 46 points after a fifth-place finish at 171 Speedway.

JOINER LEADS THE NeSMITH PANHANDLE CHALLENGE SERIES AFTER FOUR RACES

                CARTERSVILLE, GA –  After the first four races of the 2015 NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series, Joseph Joiner of Milton, FL leads the point standings by four points over Mark Clifton of Brewton, AL.  Round 5 of the 2015 NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series will be this Saturday night at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL.

Joiner is on top of the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series standings with 192 points after one win and four top five finishes in four races driving the Three Trade Consultants Special.  Clifton is second with 188 points after three top five finishes and four top ten finishes in four races driving the Carboline Special.

Josh Huss of Flomaton, AL is third in the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series standings with 180 points after driving the Huss Racing Warrior to two top five finishes and four top ten finishes in four races.  Kyle Bryant of Navarre, FL is fourth with 171 points after three top ten finishes in four races in the A.K. Moyer Construction GRT.

Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS and James Gilmore of Milton, FL are tied for the tenth spot in the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series standings with 85 points apiece.  Arnold has one top ten finish in two races driving The Strength Center Special.  Gilmore has two top ten finishes in two races driving the Gilmore Racing Special.

In addition to competing for point fund money in the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series, drivers are also earning NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series points and competing for the $20,000 point fund that pays back ten spots and pays the National Champion $10,000.
