NeSMITH/AR BODIES STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 10 PREVIEW

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – There are six races on the Week 10 schedule for the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies with two events on Friday night and four races on tap for Saturday night.  Drivers at the top of the points list continue to battle for positions, while drivers towards the bottom of the Top 20 are beginning to make forward moves.

Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL opened NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 10 competition on Monday night when Sean Goodwin of Pensacola, FL drove the Goodwin Racing Chevrolet to his second win of the season.

                Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS and Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS will host NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 10 action on Friday night.  Week 10 Saturday night races will be held at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN, Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

                Point leader Richie Stephens of Salem, AL will be looking for his sixth win of the 2015 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division season in Week 10 competition.  Stephens has 380 points and a 27-point lead over Branden Harris of Molino, FL. 

In the Weekly Point Average, or WPA, among the Top 20 drivers in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings, Stephens has the second highest WPA at 47.5.  Harris has 363 points and the eighth highest WPA at 45.38.

Brooks Strength of Raymond, MS is another driver looking for his sixth NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division win of the season in Week 10 competition.  Strength is third in the standings with 348 points, but he is a definite title contender as he has the highest WPA among the Top 20 in the point standings at 49.71 out of a possible 50.

Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS is fourth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 342 points and a WPA of 42.75.  John Smartt of Manchester, TN is fifth in the standings with 322 points and the sixth highest WPA at 46.  Jay Geddie of Ellisville, MS is sixth with 316 points and the ninth highest WPA at 45.14.

Larry Faulk of Monroeville, AL is seventh in the standings with 313 points and the tenth highest WPA at 44.71.  David Williamson of Seminary, MS is eighth in the standings with 307 points and a WPA of 43.86.  Bo Bailey of Milton, FL is ninth with 301 points and a WPA of 43.  Cliff Childers of Terry, MS rounds out the Top 10 of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 275 points and the seventh highest WPA at 45.83.

There are three drivers at the bottom of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Top 20 point standings that have three of the top five WPAs.  Steve Pate of Heflin, AL is 18th in the standings with 235 points, but he has the third highest WPA at 47.  Bill Stewart of Carriere, MS and Jeff Butler of Mendenhall, MS are tied for the 19th spot and the fourth highest WPA at 46.6.

Drivers in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division will compete against each other nationally using a points system that will count their best 14 weekly point totals over a 27-week season from March 23 through September 27.  The $5,000 National point fund will pay $2,000 to the National Champion and pay back to the Top 10 drivers in the final point standings.
