NeSMITH PERFORMANCE PARTS STREET STOCK DIVISION ROUND UP FOR MAY 27

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – Trey Bright of Coker, AL took over sole possession of the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point lead with two big wins in Week 9 competition driving the AKA Cores Chevrolet.  Bright now holds a two-point lead over Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL.  Bright has 390 points and Spears has 388 points.

                Bright took the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division win on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS, and followed that up with his fifth win of the season on Sunday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.  Along with the five wins, Bright also has eight top five finishes and nine top ten finishes in nine starts.

                Spears drove the Bass Sports Online Chevrolet to a pair of top five finishes in Week 9 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division action with a third-place showing at Whynot Motorsports Park and a fifth-place finish in Sunday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway.  Spears has four wins, eight top five finishes and nine top ten finishes in nine starts.

                Dave Nations of Raymond, MS finished second on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park driving the Street Stock Set Up Specialists Chevrolet, and is third in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 380 points.  Nations has one win, six top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in eight starts.

                Chad Hiers of Ocean Springs, MS is fourth in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 338 points.  Hiers has six top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in nine races.  Hiers had a fifth-place finish on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA driving the Hiers Construction Chevrolet.

                Wayne Medders of Morton, MS had a busy week of NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division action.  Medders raced at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS on Friday night, Whynot Motorsports Park on Saturday night, and Magnolia Motor Speedway on Sunday night.  His best finish was fourth on Friday night at HMP. 

                Medders is fifth in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 315 points with three top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in ten races driving the Medders Construction Chevrolet.

                Stacy Herron of Kiln, MS drove the S&B Contracting Chevrolet to his first NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the 2013 season on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway.  Herron is sixth in the standings with 307 points after one win, six top five finishes, and seven top ten finishes in eight starts.

                Eddie Willis of Saucier, MS is seventh in the standings with 298 points.  Willis finished second on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway driving the Willis Racing Chevrolet.  Willis has one win, five top finishes and eight top ten finishes in eight NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division races.

                Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS had a fifth-place finish on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park driving the American Portable Buildings Chevrolet.  Leftwich is eighth in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 290 points after three top five finishes and five top ten finishes in seven starts.

                Jarrod Fremin of Montz, LA is ninth in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 254 points after one win, four top five finishes, and six top ten finishes in six starts.  Jeffrey Walker of Meridian, MS is tenth in the standings with 241 points after one top five finish and three top ten finishes in six races driving the Shones Painting Chevrolet.

                Four drivers in the top ten of the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point standings are using the $3,195 Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine.  Spears, Nations, Leftwich and Walker are using the 602 Crate Engine.

                In other NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 9 action, Mike Ladner of Biloxi, MS drove the Twin Bros Earth Movers Chevrolet to his first win of the 2013 season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Motorsports Park.  Bobby Joe Robinson of Falkville, AL was a first time 2013 winner on Saturday night at Moulton Speedway in Moulton, AL driving the Robinson’s Backhoe Service Chevrolet.

                Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS did not report their Week 9 Saturday night results.  A total of 152 different drivers have earned points in the first nine weeks of NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division competition.
