NeSMITH/AR BODIES STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 8 ROUND UP

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – Thanks to Mother Nature, all the action in Week 8 of the 27-week 2015 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies season took place 30 miles apart from each other, as all of the competition focused on Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL and Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.

                Branden Harris of Molino, FL had his son and six-year-old crew chief and self-proclaimed brains of the operation Landen Harris stay awake through a rain delay and into the late hours of the night to help his Dad capture his second NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division win of the season driving the Coastal Engine and Machine Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

                “Landen usually falls asleep before the feature race, but he has stayed awake twice this season, and we’ve won both times,” Harris said.  “We’ve to figure out a way to keep that boy awake until the checkered flag falls at these races!”

                The victory vaulted Harris up into the second spot of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division National standings with 321 points after two wins and six top five finishes in seven races.  Harris trails point leader Richie Stephens of Salem, AL by nine points. 

Stephens has 330 points after three wins, five top five finishes and six top ten finishes in eight races over seven weeks driving the Rocketman Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.  Stephens did not compete in NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 8 action.

                Just 30 minutes south of Flomaton Speedway, Michael Williams of Meridian, MS drove the Williams Race Cars Chevrolet to his first NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division  victory of the season at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.  Bo Bailey of Milton, FL finished second in the L&L Construction Services Chevrolet to move into the Top 10 of the National point standings.

                Brooks Strength of Raymond, MS was idle in NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 8 competition, and dropped to the third spot in the National standings with 299 points.  Strength has five wins and six top five finishes in eight races over six weeks in the Sauls Farm Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine. 

Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS, John Smartt of Manchester, TN and Jay Geddie of Ellisville, MS all dropped one spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings after not competing in Week 8 action.

                Jarrell is fourth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 294 points after four top five finishes and six top ten finishes in eight races over seven weeks driving the Jarrell Rigged Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine, as is  Smartt, who is fifth.

Smartt has 276 points after three wins and six top five finishes in six races driving the Frontline Race Cars Chevrolet.  Geddie is six in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 271 points after three top five finishes and six top ten finishes in six races in the Geddie Tree Service Chevrolet.

Larry Faulk of Monroeville, AL drove the Faulk Motorsports Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to an eighth-place finish Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway.  That moved Faulk up to the seventh spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 269 points after three top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in seven races over six weeks.

David Williamson of Seminary, MS was idle from NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 8 competition and dropped to eighth in the standings with 258 points after three top five finishes and four top ten finishes in six races in the Sauls Farm Ford.  David Windham of Florala, AL finished tenth on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway in the Florala Pharmacy Chevrolet and move into a tie with Williamson for the eighth spot.

Powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine, Windham has 258 points after one win, three top five finishes and four top ten finishes  in six races.  Bailey rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 254 points after five top five finishes in six races.

The Friday night NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 8 event was cancelled due to a track equipment issue.  Saturday night Week 8 Rainouts took place at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN, Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.
