NeSMITH CHEVROLET OLD MAN’S GARAGE WEEKLY RACING SERIES WEEK 7 PREVIEW

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 7 for the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series will be a busy one with 13 races in nine different states on the schedule of events. There will be four races on Friday night, and nine races on Saturday night. Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS goes into Week 7 competition as the point leader.

Four Friday night races will open Week 7 competition for the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Models with events scheduled for Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS will host a special Friday night event, Hattiesburg Motor Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS and Penton Raceway in Penton, AL.

Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 7 action will take place at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX, Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, FL, Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN, East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.

Arnold holds a ten-point lead in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series point standings over his Billy Riels Racing teammate Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS Arnold has 293 points and Lee has 283 points. Three-time West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS is third with 279 points.

A third Billy Riels Racing team member, Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS, is fourth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 277 points. Derrick Mackmer of Purvis, MS is fifth with 264 points, and Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS is sixth with 257 points. Mickey Trosclair of Luling, MS is seventh with 227 points.

Owen Stockstill of Purvis, MS is eighth with 224 points, and Tim Dees of Meridian, MS is ninth with 219 points. Jamey Boland of Cuba, AL round out the top ten in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 211 points.

Drivers participating at NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts their 14 best weekly point totals over the 27-week season that runs through September 29.

The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet OMG WRS National Champion will earn $10,000 and the Top 10 drivers in the final National point standings will also receive cash awards from the point fund. Drivers will also compete for an additional point fund at each series sanctioned track.

The dirt late model race cars in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series are powered by the economical Chevrolet Performance Crate Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications. There are two engines to choose from, the 400 horsepower aluminum-head 604 engine and the 350 horsepower steel-head 602 engine that gets a 100-pound weight break.
