NeSMITH PERFORMANCE PARTS STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 6 ROUND UP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – A new point leader has emerged after Week 6 of the 2016 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division season.  Branden Harris of Molino, FL is now at the top of the list with 241 points after one win, five top five finishes and six top ten finishes in six races.  Along with the change at the top of the points chase, there were wholesale changes throughout the Top 10.

Harris drove the BH Built Bodies Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to a sixth-place finish on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.  It was the first finish outside the top three this season for Harris, who now holds a three point advantage over two drivers tied for the second spot in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings.

Stuart Wilson of Milton, FL and Steve Pate of Heflin, AL are tied for the second spot in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 238 points apiece, and both drivers powered by the $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine picked up wins in Week 6 competition.

Wilson drove the Wilson Lumber Company Chevrolet to his fourth win of the season on Saturday night with a 40-point victory at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL  Pate scored his third NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL in the Pate Racing Chevrolet.  In six races, Wilson has four wins and six top five finishes, while Pate has three wins and five top five finishes in five races.

Cory Korreckt of Lincoln, AL finished second to Pate on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track to move up to the fourth spot in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 236 points.  Korreckt has two wins and five top five finishes in five races driving the Red Door Saloon Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

Howie Reeves of Crestview, FL is fifth in the standings with 235 points after six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in seven NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division races driving the Howie’s Welding Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.  Reeves finished fourth on Saturday night at Southern Raceway.

Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS did not compete in NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 6 action, and went from the point lead to a tie for the sixth spot in the National point standings with Bo Bailey of Milton , FL.  Both drivers have 227 points.

David Windham of Florala, AL is eighth in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 219 points after three top five finishes in five starts.  Windham drove the Florala Pharmacy Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to a second-place finish on Saturday night at Northwest Florida Speedway.

Blake Ewing of Carriere, MS did not see any Week 6 action and dropped to ninth in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 211 points.  Ewing has two top five finishes and four top ten finishes in five races driving the Richie’s Gun and Pawn Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

Dan Cox of Odenville, AL rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 206 points after five top ten finishes in five races driving the DMC Motorsports Chevrolet.  Cox finished sixth on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Week 6 competition.

In other NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 6 action, Jason Price of Pelham, GA drove the Godwin Pecans Chevrolet to his second win of the season on Saturday night at Albany Motor Speedway in Albany, GA.

Spencer Hughes of Meridian, MS continued his domination in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division during Week 6 competition.  The 15-year-old driver came home with his fourth win in five starts on Saturday night at Southern Raceway driving the  B.J.’s Tire and Service Center Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

Derick Schrecengost of Smith, AL took a 40-point win on Saturday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL driving the Schrecengost Racing Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

While the economical $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine, that is an optional engine available to competitors in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division, had a big Week 6 with the top nine in the point standings and powering four of the five race winners, Mother Nature had an even bigger week by washing out eight of the 13 races.

Friday night NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 6 races were completely rained out with events scheduled for NEA Speedway in Harrisburg, AR and Talladega Short Track.  Saturday night races rained out were at Battleground Race Park in Highlands, TX, Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, LA 36 Speedway in Lacombe, LA, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, and Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summertown, TN.
