NeSMITH CHEVROLET OLD MAN’S GARAGE WEEKLY RACING SERIES WEEK 6 PREVIEW

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 6 of the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series has eight races on the schedule of events in six different states. There will be three races on Friday night, and five races scheduled for Saturday night. Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS is the series point leader going into Week 6 competition.

Friday night NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 6 events are scheduled for Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, Hattiesburg Motorsports Park in Hattiesburg, MS, and a special Friday night show at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

The Saturday night schedule for the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series has Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, Talladega Short Track, West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS hosting Week 6 races.

Arnold holds a six point lead over three-time NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS. Arnold has 244 points and Keeton has 238 points. The “Hattiesburg Hustler” will be looking for his fourth win of the season this weekend in NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Late Model action.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is third with 235 points. “The General” is looking for his second of the season this weekend. Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS is fourth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 232 points, and the “Florence Flash” is in search of win number two on the season.

Mickey Trosclair of Luling, LA and Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS are tied for fifth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 227 points apiece. “Louisiana Fast” will be trying to collect win number two in Week 6 competition. Derrick Mackmer of Purvis, MS is seventh with 219 points.

Montana Dudley of Phenix City, AL is eighth in the standings with 199 points. Dudley will be looking for his fourth straight win in NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 6 action on Saturday night at East Alabama Motor Speedway.

Owen Stockstill of Purvis, MS is ninth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series standings with 177 points and will be looking for his second win of the season this weekend. Tim Dees of Meridian, MS rounds out the Top 10 in the standings with 176 points.

Randy Boyd of Marion, MS is another driver looking to extend a winning streak in NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series Week 6 action and close in on the Top 10 in points. Boyd will be looking for his fourth straight win on Saturday night in the first I-20 Challenge Series race of the season at Whynot Motorsports Park.

Drivers participating at NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts their 14 best weekly point totals over the 27-week season that runs through September 29.

The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet OMG WRS National Champion will earn $10,000 and the Top 10 drivers in the final National point standings will also receive cash awards from the point fund. Drivers will also compete for an additional point fund at each series sanctioned track.

The dirt late model race cars in the NeSmith Chevrolet Old Man’s Garage Weekly Racing Series are powered by the economical Chevrolet Performance Crate Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications.
