NeSMITH PERFORMANCE PARTS STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 5 PREVIEW
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
CARTERSVILLE, GA – NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division drivers will have four races to earn National points during Week 5 competition. There will be one race on Friday night, and three races set for Saturday night.
Jackson Motor Speedway will make its third attempt to have its 2013 season opener for the NeSmith Performance Street Stock Division on Friday night. Jackson Motor Speedway will present a 20-lap $600-to-win race.
Saturday night NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 5 action is scheduled for Moulton Speedway in Moulton, AL, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS. Jarrod Fremin of Montz, LA holds an 11-point advantage over Chad Hiers of Ocean Springs, MS in the National point standings.
Fremin has 167 points and will be looking for his second NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the season in Week 5 competition. Hiers has 156 points in the second spot. Fremin and Hiers are the only two drivers that have competed in all four weeks of competition held thus far.
Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL is in the third spot with 149 points, seven points behind Hiers. Spears will be looking for his second straight NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division win at Moulton Speedway with a $3,195 Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine under the hood, and his third win of the season.
Luke Riddle of Hartselle, AL is fourth in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division point standings with 145 points, and Dave Nations of Raymond, MS is fifth with 144 points. Nations will be looking for his second straight win with a Chevrolet Performance 602 Crate Engine at Whynot Motorsports Park.
Trey Bright of Coker, AL will be looking for his third NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division win of the season in Week 5 action, and he is sixth in the standings with 143 points. Roger Flynn of Denham Springs, LA is seventh with 140 points, and he will be looking for his fourth straight win this weekend.
Wayne Medders of Morton, MS is eighth in the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division standings with 136 points. Randall Horton of Moulton, AL is ninth with 133 points, and Wayne Vintson of Bremen, AL rounds out the top ten with 132 points.
Drivers that race at NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts a driver’s best 14 weekly point totals during the 27-week season that runs through September 29. The 2013 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division champion will pocket $2,000 and the National point fund pays back to the Top 10 drivers at the end of the season.
