Mike Lane of Pace, FL drove the Lane’s Vinyl Siding Chevrolet to victory Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL to take over the point lead. Lane now has 182 points after one win, three top five finishes and four top ten finishes in four NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division races to earn a two-point advantage in the points chase over Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS and James “Scooter” Ware of West Point, MS, who are tied for the second spot with 180 points apiece. Leftwich finished fourth on Saturday night in the co-sanctioned race with the Mississippi Street Stock Series at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL. Leftwich now has two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in four NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock starts driving the STR Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a $3,195 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine. Ware’s best finish of the weekend was a third-place effort on Friday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS in the Peay’s Auto Salvage Chevrolet. Ware now has one win, two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in five NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock races. David Windham of Florala, AL is fourth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 175 points after two top five finishes and four top ten finishes in four races driving the Florala Pharmacy Chevrolet. Windham had an eighth-place finish on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway. Clint Vaughn of Odenville, AL is fifth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 164 points after driving the Vinson Race Engines Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to a second-place finish on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Vaughn has four top finishes in four starts. Scotty Vowell of Philadelphia, MS had a pair of tenth-place finishes over the weekend at Magnolia Motor Speedway driving the Scotty’s Recycling and Salvage Chevrolet to move into the sixth spot of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 149 points. Vowell has three top ten finishes in five races. Bill Arnett of Holt, FL is seventh in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 145 points after one win, and three top five finishes in three races. Arnett drove the Arnett Septic Chevrolet to a fourth-place finish on Saturday night at Southern Raceway. Kevin Whittington of Brandon, MS drove the Ergon, Inc. Chevrolet to the $1,000 victory on Saturday night at Flomaton Speedway for his second NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock win of the season. That put Whittington in the eighth spot of the standings with 144 points after two wins, two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in three starts. Kevin Spears of Fayette, AL is ninth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock standings with 143 points after driving the Bates Septic Service Chevrolet powered by a Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to a second-place finish on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway. In four starts, Spears has three top five finishes and four top ten finishes. Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS rounds out the Top 10 of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 138 points. Barry Daniels of Poplar Bluff, MO was the winner on Saturday night at Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, MO driving the Daniels Racing Special. Mother Nature claimed two Friday night NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 4 events. Races at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL and Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS were rained out. Penton Raceway in Penton, AL was rained out, and Arkadelphia Speedway in Bremen, AL did not get to run due to a power outage. There is now a three-way tie for the lead in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge among Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL, Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV, and GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR with five wins apiece.
