NeSMITH CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES WEEK 4 ROUND UP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – The only NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 4 action took place on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS.  That was the only event on the ten race Week 4 schedule of events that was able to be completed, as rain washed out the nine other races over the weekend.

                That one race resulted in several changes among the top ten of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings.  Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS finished seventh at Hattiesburg Speedway on Friday night in the Strength Center Special to remain on top of the standings with 190 points after three wins, four top five finishes and five top ten finishes in five races.

                Cliff Williams of Star, MS and Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS  share the second spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 144 points apiece.  Williams finished second on Friday night in the Cliff Williams Plumbing GRT, and Lee drove the Billy Riels Racing Special to a fifth-place finish on Friday night.  Williams has one win, two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in three races.  Lee has one win, and four top five finishes in four races.

                Cruz Skinner of Oxford, AL did not compete in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 4 action, and dropped to the fourth spot in the standings with 142 points after one win, two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in three races driving the Skinner’s Body Shop CVR.  The 13-year-old driver also leads the Sunoco Young Guns Challenge Series point standings for drivers 18 years of age and younger.

                The 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS took his first win of the season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway driving the Billy Riels Racing Special.  That moved Daspit up to the fifth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 141 points after one win, two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in three races.

                Joseph Joiner of Milton, FL did not compete in Week 4 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series action and dropped to sixth in the standings with 139 points.  Joiner, who leads the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series point standings, has one win and two top five finishes in three races driving the Three Trade Consultants Special.

                Justin McRee of Woodstock, GA is seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 132 points after one top five finish and two top ten finishes in four races driving the High Roller Race Cars Special.  McRee did not compete in Week 4 action.

                Dustin Boykin of Wiggins, MS finished eighth on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in the Boykin Racing Trak-Star and moved into a three-way tie for the eighth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series with Nick thrash of Meridian, MS and Sid Scarbrough of Florence, MS at 131 points apiece.

                Boykin has two top five finishes and four top ten finishes in four races.  Thrash has one top five finish in three races driving the McDevitt Enterprises GRT and Scarbrough has one top five finish and two top ten finishes in four races in the Villa South Trak-Star.

                NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 4 rainouts began on Friday night with season opener at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL.  All eight races on the Saturday night Week 4 schedule of events were washed out, but Camden Speedway in Camden, TN did make it to intermission, but did not run feature events.

                Other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 4 Saturday night rainouts were at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX, the season opener at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, the co-sanctioned race with the Southern Crate Late Model Series at Sabine Motor Speedway in Many, LA, the NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series race at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

NeSMITH/AR BODIES STREET STOCK DIVISION WEEK 4 ROUND UP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – Only one of seven NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies events scheduled for Week 4 was completed, but that one race at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS on Friday night shuffled the Top 10 of the point standings.  Brooks Strength of Raymond, MS took the win to remain undefeated.

Strength drove the Sauls Farm Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine to his third win in three races this season.  The victory vaulted Strength to the third spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 150 points, making him one of several National Championship contenders for 2015.

Richie Stephens of Salem, AL remains the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point leader after finishing second on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in the Rocketman Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.  In four starts, Stephens has 189 points after one win and three top five finishes.

                Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS used a 14th-place finish to earn 41 points on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway and move up to the second spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 159 points.  Jarrell has two top five finishes in four races driving the Jarrell Rigged Race Cars Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

                Fourth-place in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings, ten points behind Strength, is David Williamson of Seminary, MS with 140 points after two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in three races.  Williamson finished eighth on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway driving the Sauls Farm Ford.

                Jay Geddie of Ellisville, MS drove the Geddie Tree Service Chevrolet to a third-place finish on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway to climb up to the fifth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 138 points.  Geddie has two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in three races. 

                John Smartt of Manchester, TN and Branden Harris of Molino, FL are tied for the sixth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 137 points apiece.  Both drivers did not compete in Week 4 action and each have one win and three top five finishes in three races.  Smartt drives the Frontline Race Cars Chevrolet, and Harris drives the Coastal Engine and Machine Chevrolet.  Both cars are powered by the $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.

                Larry Faulk of Monroeville, AL and Bryan Cox of Saucier, MS are tied for the ninth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 136 points apiece.  Faulk has three top five finishes in three races driving the Faulk Motorsports Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine. 

Cox has two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in three races in the Country Pleasin’ Sausage Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.  Neither Faulk nor Cox raced in NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 4 competition.

David Windham of Florala, AL and Michael Williams of Meridian, MS are tied for the tenth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 128 points apiece.  Windham and Williams did not compete in Week 4 action. 

Windham has one win and two top five finishes in three races driving the Florala Pharmacy Chevrolet powered by a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine.  Williams has one top five finish in three NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division races driving the Williams Race Cars Chevrolet.

Six tracks rained out their NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 4 events, beginning with Friday night’s scheduled event at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL.  Saturday night rainouts included the $1,000-to-win Mississippi Street Stock Series co-sanctioned race at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL.  That race has been rescheduled for this Saturday night.

Also raining out on Saturday night with their NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 4 events were Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.
