NeSMITH CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES WEEK 4 ROUND UP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

               CARTERSVILLE, GA – Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS remains on top of the 2016 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings after Week 4 competition.  Lee drove the Billy Riels Racing Special to his second win of the season on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS.

Lee has 197 points after two wins, five top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in seven races.  “The General” holds a ten-point lead over Tootie Arnold of Meadville, MS.  Arnold has 187 points after a fourth-place finish on Saturday night at LA 36 Speedway in Lacombe, LA driving the Miss-Lou Mobile Homes Movers Trak-Star.

Arnold has one win, three top five finishes and five top ten finishes in five NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series races.  Arnold has a two-point advantage over the third-place driver, Scott Ladner of Lumberton, MS, who finished third on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in the L&L Performance Trak-Star.  In six races, Ladner has two top five finishes and six top ten finishes.   

Robbie Starnes of Baytown, TX is fourth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 183 points.  Starnes earned 39 points with a second-place finish on Friday night at Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, TX driving the Lone Star Hydro and Maintenance Special.  In five races, Starnes has one win, four top five finishes and five top ten finishes.

               Bryan Foy of Lacombe, LA is fifth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 178 points after two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in four races.  Foy drove the B&K Contracting Trak-Star to a 16th-place finish on Saturday night at LA 36 Speedway.

               Hunter Lewis of Moss Point, MS is sixth in the standings with 176 points after driving the T. Lewis Construction Rocket to an eighth-place finish on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway.  Lewis has two top five finishes and three top ten finishes in four NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series races.

               Nick Gaines of Pearl River, LA is seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 167 points after two top ten finishes in four races driving the Great American Cookies of Slidell Special.  Gaines finished 12th on Saturday night at LA 36 Speedway. 

Sunoco Young Guns Challenge Series driver 15-year-old Dylan Allen of Baytown, TX is eighth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 158 points after three top five finishes and four top ten finishes in four races.  Allen drove the Hi-Tech Valve Company Trak-Star to a fourth-place finish on Friday night at Golden Triangle Raceway Park.

Mike Boland of Cuba, AL drove the Boland Performance Trak-Star to his second win of the 2016 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season on Saturday night at LA 36 Speedway.  That moved Boland up to the ninth spot in the standings with 142 points after two wins, three top five finishes and four top ten finishes in four races.

Bobby Jordan of McCarley, MS rounds out the Top 10 in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 141 points after three top five finishes and four top ten finishes in four races.  McCarley drove the Big Nasty Motorsports Special to a sixth-place finish on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 4 action, Delbert Smith of Wichita, KS opened the season at Salina Speedway in Salina, KS with a win on Friday night in the BSB Manufacturing Special.  Ricky Begnaud of Spring, TX drove the Roof Tech Special to his second win of the season on Friday night at Golden Triangle Raceway Park. 

Adam Ray of Smithland, KY took the win on Saturday night at Camden Speedway driving the Three Rivers Machine Special.  Justin McRee of Woodstock, AL wheeled his High Roller Race Cars/Dunn Motorsports Special to victory on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track.

Cody Smith of Holt, FL picked up his second straight NeSmith Panhandle Challenge Series win of the season on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL driving the Smith’s Performance Rocket. 

NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 4 rainouts occurred on Friday night at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL, and on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS and Battleground Race Park in Highlands, TX.

Boland helped his cause once again in padding his lead in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufactures Challenge with the fifth win of the season for four-time champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL.  Smith has given Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV both of its two wins for the second spot in the standings.

CVR Race Cars of Lenoir City, TN is third in the Chassis points with one win.  Also participating in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufactures Challenge is four-time champion GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR, and Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN.
