NeSMITH CHEVROLET DLMS BILSTEIN SHOCKS “SERIES WITHIN A SERIES” BEGINS THIS WEEKEND AT GREENVILLE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division will travel to Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS this Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for Round 6 of the 2013 season with the $5,000-to-win 3rd Annual “Rumble On The Gumbo 75.”  It will also be the first points race for the Bilstein Shocks “Series Within A Series.”

                The Bilstein Shocks “Series Within A Series” is for drivers that choose to the economical $35 Bilstein Spec Shocks on all four corners and the fifth coil of their race cars for the remainder of the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Touring Division season. 

Drivers will collect points at each event and the Top 5 five drivers at the end of the season will collect point fund money at the end of the season out of the $5,000 point fund.  The Bilstein Shocks “Series Within A Series” Champion will earn $2,500.

David Earl Gentry of Murfreesboro, TN was the 2012 Bilstein Shocks “Series Within A Series” Champion after finishing second in the overall NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division point standings with three wins, 11 Top 5 finishes, 15 Top 10 finishes, and two Fast Time Awards in 22 starts.

Michael Blount of Sumrall, MS finished second in the 2013 Bilstein “Series Within A Series” point standings, Johnny Stokes of Columbus, MS finished third, and Frank Wilson of Harold, FL took the fourth spot.

The action at Greenville Speedway for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Tour begins on Thursday night with a practice session.  The gates open at 5 p.m. and the practice will run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

On Friday night, the gates open at 4 p.m. with NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection from 4 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.  The Drivers Meeting is set for 6:45 p.m. and racing is scheduled for 7 p.m.  The NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS will compete in Qualifying to earn starting spots for the Heat Races that will fill the front of the field.

On Saturday night, the gates open at 3 p.m. with NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Check-In from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.  The Drivers Meeting is set for 5:40 p.m., and racing is scheduled for 6 p.m.  The NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS will compete in B-Main Races to fill the back of the 24-car starting field for the $5,000-to-win 3rd Annual Rumble On The Gumbo 75 later in the evening.

Race fans will also have a unique opportunity to participate in on track action at Greenville Speedway and also help out the local chapter of the American Cancer Society through the “Ride For Life” program on Saturday night.

Stokes, Brent Barrett of Cleveland, MS, Bubba Harrison of Cleveland, MS, Chad Washington of Greenville, MS, and Mike Palasini of Leland, MS will be donating their time and talent to give race fans an opportunity for six laps at race speed around Greenville Speedway in the two-seat “Ride For Life” dirt late model race car to benefit the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.

                There are two ways race fans can win the “Ride For Life.”  Race fans can purchase raffle tickets and win a drawing for a ride, or they can bid for a ride with their favorite driver during an auction at Greenville Speedway on Saturday night.  American Cancer Society officials will also be raffling off a Yeti Cooler full of special prizes from area merchants and businesses. 

                The local chapter of the American Cancer Society is also selling Event Collector T-Shirts for $15 apiece for S-XL and $17 for 2X and 3X sizes.  The Raffle Tickets for the “Ride For Life” and the Yeti Cooler Fan Pack are currently on sale for $5.00 apiece.
