NeSMITH CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES WEEK 4 PREVIEW

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

                CARTERSVILLE, GA – Several drivers will be looking for a win in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 4 action this weekend to try and stay in the $10,000 Championship hunt with point leader Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL, who will be looking for his third straight win.  There will be 14 races in eight different states that make up a busy Week 4 of competition.

                NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 4 action begins with three races on Friday night.  Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, and Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS will present NeSmith Chevrolet WRS Week 4 races.

                A pair of $1,000-to-win races will highlight Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 4 competition.  411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN has announced that they will be paying $1,000-to-win each week for their NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division.

                Magnolia Motor Speedway will host their second Week 4 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series event on Saturday night with a $1,000-to-win race.  Also in action on Saturday night will be Arkadelphia Speedway in Bremen, AL, Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX, Camden Speedway in Camden, TN, Penton Raceway in Penton, AL, Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, MO, Smokey Harris Speedway in Haleburg, AL, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

                Gauldin leads the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 149 points after two straight wins and a second-place finish in the opening week.  Gauldin holds a six-point advantage over Daniel Bridgmon of Meridian, MS and Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN, who are tied for second in the standings with 143 points apiece.

                Meridian, MS drivers Casey Haney and Nick Thrash are fourth and fifth respectively in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings.  Haney has 141points, and Thrash has 139 points.  Caleb Coan of Moulton, AL is sixth in the standings with 137 points and Mike Combs of Odenville, AL is seventh with 135 points.

                Doug Sanchagrin of Florence, MS is eighth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 131 points.  Octogenarian Hall of Fame driver Red Farmer of Hueytown, AL and Trey Wood of Newnan, GA are tied for the tenth and final points fund paying spot at the end of the season with 130 points.

Drivers participating at NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts their 14 best weekly point totals over the 27-week season that runs through September 28. 

The 2014 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion will earn $10,000 and the Top 10 drivers in the final National point standings will also receive cash awards from the point fund.  Drivers will also compete for an additional point fund at each series sanctioned track.

The dirt late model race cars in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series are powered by the economical Chevrolet Performance Circle Track Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications.  There are two engines to choose from, the 400 horsepower aluminum-head 604 engine and the 350 horsepower steel-head 602 engine that gets a 100-pound weight break.
