GREENVILLE SPEEDWAY RUMBLE ON THE GUMBO 75 POSTPONED ONE WEEK

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The $5,000-to-win 3rd Annual Rumble On The Gumbo 75 for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS has been postponed one week and will now be rescheduled for April 18-20. The postponement is due to delays in working in the new track surface caused by wet weather.

During the off-season, Greenville Speedway officials put a new black gumbo clay surface on the ¼-mile track. An abundance of rain has caused delays in properly working in the new surface and the cancellation of several practice sessions.

With the race originally scheduled for April 11-13, track officials need another week to assure a competitive racing surface for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series competitors. The 3rd Annual Rumble On The Gumbo 75 at Greenville Speedway will begin with an open practice session on April 18.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division will have qualifying and heat races on April 19 to set the front half of the Rumble On Gumbo 75 starting field. The back half of the field will be set on April 20 with B-Main races prior to the $5,000-to-win 75-lap main event. The April 20 race will be Round 6 of the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series season.

The “Ride For Life” with the two-seat dirt late model to benefit the local chapter of the American Cancer Society will take place at Greenville Speedway on April 20. Race fans will have the opportunity to bid at a special auction and purchase raffle tickets for a chance to take a six-lap ride at race speed with their favorite driver in a specially-built dirt late model race car with a passenger seat. All of the proceeds will benefit the local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
