CHEVY SUPER SERIES 2015 SEASON OPENER SET FOR 411 MOTOR SPEEDWAY ON MARCH 21

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CARTERSVILLE, GA – The Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series is set to open its 2015 season on March 21 with a 50-lap $3,000-to-win race at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN.  A record crowd witnessed two and three-wide racing last year from the Chevy Super Series at 411 Motor Speedway.  More of the same and then some are expected for  2015 season opener.

A talented group of over 30 drivers are expected for the 411 Motor Speedway Chevy Super Series race piloting dirt late model race cars powered by the economical all-aluminum Chevrolet Performance CT 525 Racing Engine based on the production Chevrolet LS3 Engine built for the street versions of the Chevrolet Corvette, Chevrolet Camaro, and the Chevrolet SS.

National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Inductee and the 2014 Chevy Super Series National Champion Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN will kick off the defense of his $10,000 title at 411 Motor Speedway, a track where he posted one of his three wins last season.  As the Chevy Super Series begins its third season, Johnson will face one of the most competitive fields in series history.

The 2013 Chevy Super Series National Champion William Thomas of Phenix City, AL is planning a return to action this season.  Thomas had four wins during the inaugural  season of the Chevy Super Series on his way to the title.

The National Championship Runners-Up during the first two Chevy Super Series seasons will return for 2015.  Tim Busha of Boaz, AL finished second in the points in 2013 with two wins, and Tyler Ivey of Lamont, FL finished second last season.  Jake Knowles of Rome, GA will be back for his second season after finishing third last season in the point standings with one win.

Top 10 drivers from last season returning for 2015 are fourth-place Jacob Grizzle of Blairsville, GA, sixth-place and Cruise With The Champions Rookie of the Year Runner-Up Jadon Frame of Winchester, TN, seventh-place and the “Mayor of the Chevy Fan Zone” Mark Dowdy of Waterloo, AL, and eighth-place Lavon Sparks of Phenix City, AL.

The 2015 season will also see some familiar Top 10 faces from the 2013 inaugural Chevy Super Series season with the father and son Talladega, AL-based team of sixth-place Adam Martin, and his dad eighth-place Ross Martin.  The 2013 ninth-place driver David Brannon of Elora, TN will also return for the 2015 season.

The 2015 Chevy Super Series talent pool gets even deeper with several other race winners and front runners from last season throwing their respective hats in the ring for the $10,000 National Championship.

Pierce McCarter of Gatlinburg, TN will be running the full season in 2015 after winning the 2014 Alabama State Championship Race last season with the Chevy Super Series.  Jeff Smith of Chatsworth, GA and Brandon Williams of Crossville, TN will also be a full time Chevy Super Series entrant in 2015.  Williams finished second last year at 411 Motor Speedway and led 45 laps of the Chevy Super Series race.

The first two drivers to sign up for the 2015 Cruise With The Champions Rookie of the Year competition are Ryan King of Anniston, AL and Mario Gresham of Rome, GA.  Other drivers expected for the 411 Motor Speedway Chevy Super Series season opener are Matt Dooley of Brooks, GA, Ted Lackey of Munford, AL, Trevor and Tony Thompson of Dallas, GA, Steve Kirk of Munford, AL and Jerry Taylor.

Race fans are encouraged to arrive early at 411 Motor Speedway on March 21, as the Chevy Super Series drivers and their race cars will be in the Chevy Fan Zone behind the main grandstand at 411 Motor Speedway from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m..

The Chevy Fan Zone gives both the competitors and the fans an opportunity to get to know each other on a personal basis in an effort to enhance their experience at Chevy Super Series events.  The fans are used to just seeing a race car going around the track while sitting in the stands, but at Chevy Super Series events, they will also know the person under the helmet sitting behind the wheel!

The cars and stars of the Chevy Super Series will be in the Chevy Fan Zone signing autographs, posing for photos, and kids will receive driver hero cards and coloring books.  The fans can also see the race cars, and the production-based engines that power them up close.  The chances are pretty good that several fans will have the same engine under the hood of the car they drove to the race track!

The action at 411 Motor Speedway will get underway on Friday night, March 20 with an open practice session from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.  On Saturday, March 21, the pit gate opens at 1 p.m. with Chevy Super Series Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. with Hot Laps and Racing to follow.

411 Motor Speedway is located one mile south of U.S. Highway 441 on U.S. Highway 411 at 632 Maryville Highway, Seymour, TN  37865.  For more information call 865-257-7223 or visit the track web site at www.411motorspeedway.net and their Facebook page at 411 Motor Speedway.
